Mantra Heritage Home

I stayed at Mantra Heritage Home for 2 nights. The location of the homestay is perfect as Alleppey Beach is only 5 minutes away from there. I had a very clean and comfortable room. The best part was the services I got there. Anoop, the homeowner, took care of everything during my stay. He was so considerate to pick and drop me everywhere. He made arrangements for my backwater boating experience and helped me in planning the itinerary as well. He made sure that I had a happy stay. I got complete worth for my money. I totally recommend this homestay :)

I stayed here last weekend, and really enjoyed myself. The rooms are big and clean and there is a nice porch to sit and relax on. It is only a five minute walk to the beach, so I found this a great price-friendly option to enjoy Alleppey Beach. the location is also easily accessible to get into town and enjoy the beautiful canals, temples and nice restaurants by a 20 minute walk or easily grabbing a rickshaw outside the guesthouse. The owners were great and helped organize an amazing kayak on the backwaters which was so cool!

Mantra heritage home is an amazing heritage house in allappey. It seems like a good house. Johny and crew are very helpfull. They treated us as their family members. Nice hostel and only 5 minutes walking to beach. every good resturants are situated nearby. So we like younger mantra.

This guesthouse is absolutely great! It is just 5 minute walk from the beach, the rooms are very clean and the bathrooms are spacious. The host was incredibly kind - he offered to organise multiple activities for us and when my friend cut my toe he was straight on hand offering a first aid kit. Would really recommend staying here 

We spend here 3 days. The place is well located near to the beach, the room was good and the building is cool. But there is not hot water and the cleanness is Indian style. The best is the friendly and helpful stuff, we appreciate a lot some details they have with the customers.

Great budget retreat close to the beach

For the price the room was fine, although no hot water and the ceiling was flaking onto the bed. However giving a lower rating due to the terrible customer service. We were catching a bus to munnar the next day so on the last evening we organised with the owner for breakfast (which I prepaid for) and a tuktuk to take us to the bus station. The owner slept in and after waiting half an hour and the tuktuk driving off I had to go to their bedroom to wake him up as I wanted my money back for the breakfast. An apology goes a long way but he gave none, just started making the breakfast that we had no time to eat. He knew we had a bus to catch and still took a long time to give us our money back. We ended up having to go on our 6 hour bus journey without having eaten any breakfast and he made us so late there were no seats left and we had to stand. The breakfast cost as much as the room and the Homestay was not full so confused as to why he did not put more effort into making sure the guests he had had a good stay. 

Let down by poor customer service

I chose this place based on great reviews.  They were clearly not for the dorm room which had no Windows or ventilation.   There was a fan, though it just moved stale air around.  On the plus side, it was clean, the guests in other rooms seemed happy & the staff were understanding when I cancelled the remainder of my stay.
