I visited the Hilltop Wine Hotel with my best friend.I was suprised how beautiful and peaceful this place,also the rooms are modern.All the food was delicious and stuff was really kind.I truely recommend this place everyone!😍👏

We had the pleasure to visit Hilltop several times, as we decided to have our wedding here in the beginning of June.
Let me start with saying that Every time we got here, the staff was utmost friendly, welcoming and accommodated all our needs.
The food is incredible! really! Hands down to the chef, who has an exquisite taste! The dishes are beautifully served, your can feel the freshness of every ingredient in your bites and really nice portions. Definitely worth every penny.
Regarding our wedding, we could not be more happier with our decision!
From the first moment we stepped out from the car at Hilltop, we knew this is the place! The scenery and location is absolutely breathtaking, you have an instant feeling of Tuscany in you.
The planning and organizing was suuuuuper easy and smooth, we never had the feeling that we annoy them, more like we could work together as a team from day one.
The staff and food was absolutely delicious and even more on the actual wedding day, and all our requests were met to the fullest. All our guests were talking about the venue and food for months and still do :)
The rooms are small but lovely, nothing fancy really. I could imagine having a weekend getaway here anytime of the year.

We could not be more grateful to the Hilltop team for having us and making our most special day even more special!

Amazing place, delicious food and wine

We got married here last year (2017) and decided to go back for our 1 year anniversary lunch. It’s just stunning here, the scenery is to die for. And today the food didn’t disappoint either. The whole
meal was Gorgeous accompanied by amazing wine. I just love this place and would recommend it anyone looking for a special dining experience. 

Lovely Anniversary Lunch 

We were celebrating a birthday, and decided to come over from Budapest to Hilltop and spend the night afterwards.

The hotel and restaurant are located at the top of the surrounded by beautiful grape vines and a fantastic view of the Danube.

Our waiter was enchanting, funny and knowledgable. Overall we had 3 different bottles throughout the meal. All were very unique and full of flavor.

The dinner itself, was simply amazing. No small chef courses here. We started with a wonderful sharing starter platter our waiter arranged at our request. We then had venison goulash followed by duck leg confit with potatoes, bone marrow and apple puree. Unbelievable! 
I would recommend not to order the ribeye, it was made well done while my wife ordered medium well, and was simply a worse dish. We also had some of their great home made pickles.

For dessert we had the chocolate soufflés, the tapioca with mango and the túrógombóc “eperlevesben” tejfölhabbal
All were very good.

After we were done with our dinner we went to the top of the building to our rooms. They are simple rooms, small, old furniture, good air conditioning, small walk in shower but we had an amazing porch overlooking the Danube and the grape vines. Unbelievable views on sunrise.

Perfect night

{review of the restaurant} That place was amazing. Brutal panorama at the Hill Top with view to the Danube...
I liked the atmosphere, the service and the sorrunding grapes even during the route while coming up/down.

The food was a suprise. Way better then expected, Each was  (for us), we ate salmon, pork and some deer meat based dishes. Congrats to the chef, keep it up!

Highly recommended to anyone looking for a special meal!

The restaurant has a very nice panorama view to the near valley. The food was good quality but a bit costy compared to the prices and small portions. The service was slow and average. Altogether it was a bit below our expectation.

Gastro check at Hilltop restaurant

The location is excellent: on the top of the hill, beautiful vista around, in the heart of a winery and grape plantation.

The hotel has four rooms above the restaurants: these are better, a bit bigger, and are in a better condition. The other 4 rooms in a separate guesthouse (Vendégház) are really in poor state. I would not recommend to stay there only in emergency. 

Unfortunately I should say the cleaning of the rooms is also far from perfect.

On the other hand: the location, the view from the rooms above the restaurant, the quality of the restaurant is just fantastic. We were absolutely satisfied with the staff of the hotel (apart the cleaners). They were helpful, friendly but polite.

We use to stay a few days in August in the last three years and we still decide to come back every time despite the problems with the rooms.

They told us this year there is refurbishment ahead soon (beginning of 2019), we will check it next year. Last autumn the road (which was horrific) was restored completely (basically rebuilt), so we are hopeful...

And a few more extras on the positive side:
 - a nice pool in the top of the hill
 - a small, but cosy lookout tower
 - perfect spot for watching star falling (like Perseidas in August)
 - quite and relaxing atmosphere

Környék szép, jó alap a pihenésre. DE A MEDENCE MELLETT EGÉSZ NAP HANGOS ZENE DÜBÖRÖG.  Miért? Ide szerintem nem bulizni jönnek az emberek. Sőtt, más zene szól az étterem teraszon, más a mozi pikniken és a medencénél, amit mind hallottunk egyszerre.

Nem jó, hogy olyan óriási napernyők vannak, ami vagy 4 embernek ad árnyékot, vagy senkinek. Nem mozdíthatóak. Kisebbekre lenne szükség. A műanyag napozóágyakon nincs szivacs, kemények.

A medencéhez tartozó toalett ajtaját nem lehet bezárni!

A kertben csont száraz a fű, elfogadjuk szárazság van, de miért kell kint hagyni a locsolót, a slagot és miért napközben végzik a kerti munkálatokat (ami annak sem jó, aki épp dolgozik)?
A szabadtéri medence vize nagyon hideg, pedig régóta meleg van.

Az egész hely koncepció nélküli, jó lenne harmóniát teremteni. Toszkána hangulatához sokat kellene még fejlődni. Kemények a napozóágyak és az éttermeben lévő székek is, nincsen párna.

Apróság, amire lehetne figyelni: a kertben düledező lámpák... miért nem rakják rendbe?

Finoman főznek, finom, rendes eszpresszó kávét készítettek. Kértünk ásványvizet, mire kaptunk egy csatos üvegben vizet. Kérdeztük, hogy ez mi, mert ásványvizet kértünk. Azt a választ kaptuk, hogy ez az. ...Majd az itallapból kiderült, hogy csak a "ház vize" van. Akkor miért nem azt mondja a kedves Pincér?!

Jó lenne a hely, de még erőlködést igényel.

The basics would be good, but there is a lot of room for improvement.

Surroundings are nice, good base for relaxation. But next to the MEDENCE there is loud music all day long. Why? I don't think people come here to party. There's different music on the restaurant terrace, different music at the movie picnic and at the pool, all of which we heard at the same time.

It's not good to have huge umbrellas that either shade 4 people or no one. They can't be moved. We need smaller ones. The plastic sun beds have no sponges, they are hard.

The toilet door to the pool cannot be closed!

The grass in the garden is bone dry, we accept there is a drought, but why leave the sprinklers outside, the hose and why do gardening chores during the day (which is not good for the person who is working)?
The water in the outdoor pool is very cold, even though it has been warm for a long time.

The whole place is unconceptual, it would be nice to create harmony. Tuscany's atmosphere could do with a lot of improvement. The sun loungers and the chairs in the restaurant are hard, no cushions.

One small thing that could be looked at: the lights in the garden are dying... why don't they fix them?

Deliciously brewed, delicious, decent espresso coffee made. We asked for mineral water and were given a bottle of water with a clasp. We asked what it was because we asked for mineral water. We were told that it was. ...Then the drinks menu told us that it was only "house water". So why didn't the nice Waiter say so!!

The place would be nice, but it needs some work.

Place is really good.Activities, food was reasonable. We planned this day 1 week ahead and informed the place properly. When we wanted to  have dinner, the waitress informed us that they do not have capacity now as a big group arrived unexpectedly. 16 people. Hence our reaervation (1 week ahead) was cancelled. Poor kind of customer service...

We kept our wedding at Hilltop Wine Hotel last summer. Initially all looked fine but just a few days before the wedding the manager let us know that they are not willing to provide the 3 courses we agreed on due to the number of guests (which did not change during our discussions) unless we pay extra. In the pricelist they mentioned the wine and soda’s per liter, but they put down 25 liter barrels and charged us for the full barrel regardless of actual consumption. Further we were charged 100 euros because their staff had to move one table and set it once again. Although food was good, we felt extremely ripped off and had a bad experience with management. 

I would not recommend the place.
