Budapest Easy Flat Oktogon

What I liked... The price for this beautifully updated, decorated two-bedroom apartment with wood floors, high ceilings, two large bathrooms with soap and towels, and fully equipped kitchen (coffee maker, mini-refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, teapot kettle, pots and pans, dishes, utensils, towels, iron and ironing board, paper towels, etc.) was the best price in town for the area. I was fortunate to be the first one to respond to the booking.com posting. The location (Mozsar utca 9), which is one block north of Andrassy Boulevard (the Champs Elysee of Budapest), was convenient because it is close to the Opera and Oktogon metros, several supermarkets, opera house, theatres, and many reasonably priced restaurants. Many museums, theatres, tourist attractions are within walking distance. Alessandro, the manager, was so helpful in showing me the security system of the apartment building and telling me about the surrounding area. His framed wall map of the area with key sites and restaurants was useful. The wifi was fast and the temperature in the apartment was perfect inside. I never needed to turn on the fan or heater even though the temperature ranged from 90 F to rainy, cool days during my four-night stay in May. I highly recommend the Operetta. What I didn't like.... The street with cars was a little noisy in the daytime when the windows were open. On one evening, I enjoyed hearing some operetta singer practice. The evenings and nights were quiet. This spacious two-bedroom, updated apartment with Italian eclectic design (warm wall colors, wood furniture and contemporary lights) with two bathrooms and fully equipped kitchen (mentioned in the ‘like’ section) was conveniently located in a safe area. The main entrance of the apartment complex has a keyed security or key system. After passing the wood entry doors, there are mailboxes for the local resident tenants, and a set of stairs with an old-style elevator that takes you up to the first floor.
