The perfect private cabin (treehouse) located across the street from a deserted section of the beach (for sunsets). in fact located right on Half moon bay in West End next to all of the local dive shops: from FREEDIVING to tech diving and shark diving.  bars, grocery stores, and delicious street food are right there.

Visited this lovely place for 2 weeks opted for cabin with private bath and kitchen couldn’t have asked for better, Michelle the owner was very attentive and helpful in every way she could couldn’t have asked for better, was like home from home 2 lovely dogs and countless cats all very friendly. The gardens are lush and green and very well maintained, will definitely be going back and visiting again. Thank you Michelle for a great holiday.

Nestled in the heart of West End, Georphis is a step away from the beach, snorkeling, local art , shops, several dive shops and good food places ( escondido's across from west end divers does excellent salads/smoothies ) .Michelle the owner of Georphis is welcoming and friendly and I felt she wanted visitors to truly enjoy the island. She even put extra effort into looking for a jacket I thought I'd left behind when I left the island ( turns out I left the jacket in utila..)  Thanks for a great stay!

I loved staying at Georphi's. I opted for the private room with shared bath and kitchen. It was a cute cabin surrounded by lush vegetation with a porch and hammocks. The location was right across from the beach and a short stroll to the restaurants, dive shops, and bars. For $3 you can grab a water taxi and spend the day in West Bay.

I stayed at Georphis over Christmas break with my three boys. One is a teen and the other two are in their twenties. We rented a two bedroom apartment. It was absolutely perfect for us.  The apartment has two single beds in one bedroom and a huge king size bed in the other.   The kitchen is fully equipped. We only made breakfast as we were diving each morning and it made it easier to dive eating breakfast in the room. There is no AC in the room we had but there were ceiling fans and the room is nestled in trees and did not get hot in December.   Michelle is a sweetheart and will arrange taxi service for you. She was very accommodating. Georphis is not a five star hotel and not for everyone but if you are looking for a nice, spacious, clean, centrally located budget hotel with friendly people look no further.   The beach across the street is also the prettiest beach in west end and there are two excellent restaurants that surround the property.

Tropical Paridise

My first night staying in one of the dorms here, I woke up to a cockroach crawling on my arm. Mind you, I am OK with seeing an occasional roach, as I know it often comes with the island life, but if these things are coming to cuddle up with you... there's a problem! After getting out of bed and turning on all the lights, I proceeded to spot about a dozen more roaches on top of my luggage and scurrying about the room. They even kept coming out to where I was sitting on the porch. I ended up spending the night sitting at the curb of the street waiting for other hotels/hostels to open up. When I approached the owner in the morning to ask for my money back for the additional nights I had reserved, she refused and even had the nerve to tell me I must've brought all of those roaches with me - what a joke. After another guest who had helped me through this fiasco had confirmed the roach sightings, the owner finally apologized and told me all about the roach powder they had applied to the beds the day before. I was just happy to get out of there, and ended up booking a pricier hotel nearby just so I could get sleep in a clean, comfortable spot. If you're planning to come to Roatan, I'd suggest looking at other lodging options. Hopefully they take care of this issue, but judging by their attitude, I doubt it.
