Hotel Villa Ancestral

A beautiful traditional building, with a lovely garden, in downtown Coban, the Villa Ancestral hotel offers warm hospitality and good service. The front-desk staff is most friendly and serviceable. The hotel offers complimentary wi-fi Internet access in the rooms. The decoration and the traditional hispanic furniture provide the hotel with a most charming character. The hotel is walking distance to the "plaza" (main square), where the Cathedral is. It is also quite close to the commercial area. There are some typical restaurants nearby, like La Posada and El Peñascal. Although there is a restaurant at the hotel, during the few days I was there it was closed, for the cook's mother had been taken seriously ill. Liked best: friendly and helpful staff. Liked least 1: The closet was too small. Liked least 2: I had to leave around 5.30am, but the doors were locked, and there was nobody around. So I had to search all over the hotel, until I finally found the watchman, who was outside cleaning the sidewalk!
