Looking for a place with some character? Armelle's is a family run pension right on the beach, easy access to nearby eateries, grocery store, 1 min walk from the terminus of night bus to Papeʻete (375 XFP fare versus a 3500 XFP night cab one way). You are staying in the midst of a real family environment- they welcome you like family when you need anything, and let you do your own thing otherwise. Walking distance to Sapinus, le Musee des Iles, fresh fruit and fish vendors just next door at the public beach. Delicious daily specials and clean rooms. Nothing against other pensions I've stayed at on Tahiti, but you just can't beat the value here. Tahitian vibe, great location, friendly staff, highly recommended for the traveler with a tight budget and a relaxed spirit seeking some local charm.
