B&B HOTEL Alençon Nord

Great place for a quick stopover, especially en route to/from ferry’s if travelling through France. Perfectly located, great breakfast, parking & a ‘Buffalo grill’ next door.

I usually try to choose B&B hotels when travelling as I feel they offer the best combination of quality, comfort and price. I was certainly not disappointed on this occasion. A well-run budget hotel, spotless room, superb bed and linen, clean shower/ wc. I also appreciated the lift as I have mobility issues.Checkin was efficient and friendly.

This is a hotel we have used previously but unfortunately there was a change of management and the hotel left a great deal to be desired however since October last year there has been a new manager and what a difference.  I did not review last year as I wanted to make sure the change was not a here today gone tomorrow situation - well it is just getting better all the time.  The rooms are clean and comfortable, the facilities in the reception area are better (microwave to heat your meal) and the breakfast is very good value. Unfortunately company policy is now no dogs in the breakfast room other than assistance dogs but that is the only downside I could see.  There is a Buffalo Grill next to the hotel for dinner and the food is pretty good for a fast food restaurant. Hopefully we will be back in France in June if not sooner and yes we will be staying here again.

First time I used this hotel chain and I was very impressed. Beds super comfy, room clean and bathroom cosy. Will use again as very convenient.

After a long drive this was just what we needed.  Greeted by a charming, friendly young man, who gave us a room on the ground floor with our car right outside the door.  Couldn't have been better.  The room was clean and comfortable, there was a grill almost next door, and by showing we were staying at the hotel we got a reduction there too.  The breakfast was very good.  In fact everything was just perfect for the weary travelers.

The hotel was easy to find and close to the motorway so excellent for an overnight stop. The room was small and basic but clean and well presented. The automatic check in worked perfectly. Hotels.com lists it as having a restaurant. It doesn’t. It has a smallish area where you can have a buffet breakfast (which was pretty good). The vending machines offering drinks and snacks were both out of order and there were no facilities in the room. Taking my travel kettle would have been a good idea! We would use the hotel again for an overnight stop, but not for a longer stay.

Receptionist was very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. It would have been helpful to have some hand some in the bathroom.

Liked the friendly attitude of the reception staff, so accomodating of my mobility issues. Didn't like it that we only stopped one night. Will use this stopover on our future trips further south.

Great value room which was clean, comfortable and funtional. Ample self service breakfast. Staff were helpful and spoke English which was a plus as my French is schoolboy. Parking outside the room and a restaurant next door.

Just what we needed

Overnight stop Alencon

Four of us stayed en route to Calais. The Hotel Manager  was very welcoming and friendly and check in very easy. The rooms were very clean and comfortable.
The location is excellent, just a few miles from the Autoroute.
We had our evening meal at the Buffalo Grill just a few minutes walk away.
We will certainly stay there again.

Excellent overnight stay

Our first experience of the B&B Hotel chain was interesting. The welcome from the Manager was superb. Checking in was so easy. The atmosphere was welcoming and cheerful. Our room was small with hardly any furniture apart from a comfortable bed, one chair and one desk. The bathroom was fine. The a/c was very good. No kettle etc No fridge. Small flatscreen tv. We ate next door in a very new and very good 'Buffalo' restaurant. The night was very quiet - no traffic or people noise, being in an industrial estate. In the morning we enjoyed a jolly breakfast with a very decent choice of fare and excellent coffee. 
This was just what we expected of a budget hotel. It was definitely better than the last Ibis we encountered!

Basically very good...

Perfect for an overnight stop on our way back to the Uk from south west france. The hotel has basic facilities and the room is small, but it was exceptionally clean, breakfast was good and the person running the hotel was great.  He even prepared us a decent ready made meal when we arrived even though there is no restaurant as such on site. We didn’t explore the area as it was only a brief stay but was on an industrial estate with a Buffalo grill next to it.  The room was quiet so we had a great nights sleep in preparation for the long drive home.

Perfect overnight stay

My wife and I stayed overnight en route to South West France in September 2018.  The hotel is simple but comfortable with excellent friendly service, and the location excellent, being only a few minutes from the Autoroute.  You need to be aware that breakfast is available but no evening meals – there is a Buffalo Grill only a minute’s walk away but otherwise you have to drive to a restaurant for dinner.

I would certainly stay there again.

Comfortable and Great Value

Used this place as a stopover hotel on our way home. Good location in relation to the motorway. Basic but clean and comfortable.  We had two twin rooms as there were no family rooms available. Next to a Buffalo Grill which we did not intend using as we had read some bad reviews, so we headed into the town and found that everything was shut, so Buffalo Grill it was!  We actually had a really nice meal and couldn't fault the food or the service.  Breakfast was good but the room is far too small and it suddenly filled up with just about every guest in the hotel, so we were not able to go up for seconds.  In fact we felt obliged to leave as there were so many people queuing to get in or get seated.  If you want breakfast, so somewhere else or get there very early!
I would still stay here again as it was quiet, secure and good value for money.

Good for a stopover but breakfast could be better!

Innovative hotel with minimal staff, very tidy clean rooms and recently upgraded. Literally next door to a nice little diner for a meal out and with wifi and parking, petrol station and a Lidl round the corner and a decent, fairly-priced all you can eat breakfast. Perfect for a rest on the way back from the south of France.
