La Pommeraie

We visited Normandy to commemorate the centenary of my grandfather's death during WW1, so we were not in an over-celebratory mood. The welcome that we received was totally warm and genuine. With a wood burning fire in the lounge, we were never cold. Each room has at least a shower, some having bath and shower. Continental breakfast is served and this includes home made preserves, bread pudding and the most delicious egg custard pie. Use of the equipped kitchen is available for those who want to prepare their own food for the evening. If I have to be critical, the state of the bed meant that we kept rolling into the middle. For the summer months, a pool is available. In addition to the facilities, Cathy (hostess along with husband Eric) gave us a recommendation, as well as booked a restaurant that was open for Sunday lunch. That also provided us with a more than satisfactory meal. Rustic farm food at breakfast which we didn't realise was still a possibility. Thoroughly enjoyable break. I have no problem in recommending this property. It does appear to be very popular, so try to book well in advance.
