Hôtel Du Cygne

Situated a short drive from the magnificent Chateau de Chambord Bracieux is a nice quiet small town for a base and Hotel du Cygne a lovely option. Recommended by French friends, we had a lovely small room with its own little terrace by the door, as all those rooms had. We struck lucky with a fantastic village event on our first night, complete with brass band, food stalls, communal tables, wine and beer. For our second and final night, given the glorious weather and lovely location and facilities, we opted to picnic on the table by our room. A communal fridge offers plenty of space to keep food fresh and chill wine. It was great with all cutlery, plates and glasses available from the communal living room. The restaurants in town looked a bit pricey and this option was great. We also declined what looked a good breakfast but nipped to the local Boulangerie for a pain au chocolat and paid a Euro for a nice coffee from the hotel machine. Iced water was also on tap and most welcome. Will go back as did not get to see Chateau de Cheverny and might opt for the rotisserie chicken in the local vouchers, again across the road.
