Top-notch accommodation and service, breakfast all done right for the price. Quite well renovated room, quiet, proper bed, nice bathroom. Damage, unheated, and medium soundproofing. Ideal for a small business budget.

Good value for money

I spent one night in Le Mans as part of a training session. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Comfortable room without frost.

So my opinion is particular, because my husband didn't have the pleasure of staying here because of the sncf! To summarize: Reservation for an evening, departure from southern France... firstly delayed train... then train blocked to Paris. No possibility of departure before the next day. Solution proposed by the sncf sleeping in the train or finding a hotel at 11pm on Paris - they are comical at the sncf! We write to the hotel to the select to apologize and to ask for a bill to ask for a refund from the sncf. Instead the gentleman offered my husband to take care of the booking consultation and on top of that it is exceptional to take a visit to the next night when the gentleman did not want to be there!

Very friendly reception and shops. Quiet and pleasant hotel, proper rooms, a very friendly breakfast surrounded by a round table. Close to the train station and not far from Le Mans circuit...

Very nice.

The hotel is centrally located, 5 minutes from the train station and 10 minutes from the old town. Thanks to the choice of homemade furnishings and versatile tasteful specialties, we had an optimal start to the day. The rooms are only accessible via a wooden staircase (no elevator). Our room and bathroom were modernly furnished, clean and equipped with wooden parts. The Wi-Fi was fast and without time limit. Despite the downtown situation, the friendly staff gave good advice for our stay. The rooms are located towards a side street. Free parking spaces are rare and only in this side street are these free side lantern parking spaces.

Optimal service in a well-maintained home

Close to the train station and in a very quiet street, a few minutes from the historic center, room with old, very nice, and very restored parquet.

Calm and clean

The parquet in the rooms gives a certain charm to this hotel - the bad tongues would say the charm of the old. But it would be to forget that the bathrooms have been renovated in the current styles, that the windows are double glazed and that you have WiFi - free which is more. Do not hesitate to have breakfast. Served around a large round table, it promotes conviviality. Conveniently located establishment. Less than 300 m from the station, a little more from the city centre. Tram station T1 and T2 at the end of the street. Really good.

I recommend it.

We stayed 2 nights.  Near train station by short walk. Within blocks of old city. Room space small but clean. Was allowed later checkout no prob, and clerk even carried our heaviest bag up 4 small flights. In-house breakfast, although we did not partake. Midrange and was reasonably quiet and comfy. Bed nice but a bit small for this sizable American.

Mixed Feelings but Friendly

The rooms are enormous, more like an apartment than a hotel room.Simply arranged, clean, impeccable, offers also a very good breakfast.The building is a typical construction of the 19th century, the rooms are accessed by stairs.

Selecto secret is a secret.

This is certainly not a luxury hotel; but that's reflected in the price.  For reasonably cheap accommodation, conveniently situated for the station, it's perfectly adequate.
I arrived earlier than the check-in time of 4:30, but unfortunately Reception was not manned.  So I had to carry my bag around with me all day.  (Fair enough; they do state that check-in time is from 4:30.)  
The member of staff on reception seemed a bit concerned that the family who had just arrived in front of me didn't speak French, as he clearly wasn't very confident in speaking English - but he did manage!  On the other hand, it was very nice to find someone who was happy to speak to me (fairly slowly and clearly) in French - and he was very helpful, friendly and polite.
My double room was perfectly comfortable and surprisingly spacious.  The shower was in the room (not in a separate bathroom), which was fine - the only problem was, it did leak quite badly, so I ended up with several pools of water on the wooden floor...
Bed was very comfortable - just a pity about the plastic mattress cover, as it was quite crackly and noisy.  Not a problem if you're sleeping alone, but might be if there are two of you!
The location of the hotel is convenient for the station, and is just off the main street.  The actual road the hotel is on isn't the nicest, but it's perfectly OK.  It's a little walk into town; this is fine during the day, but as a single female returning quite late at night (after watching 'La Nuit des Chimères') I did feel a little bit anxious, at it's away from the main tourist area.
Breakfast was adequate; everyone sits around a large round table in the Reception area and helps themselves.  The same member of staff was on duty, and was, again, pleasant and helpful.  The breakfast itself was OK (extra cost, not included in room rate) - but was mainly bread-based.  There was no cheese, cold meats, eggs etc.  So if you don't eat gluten, it's pretty much yoghurt and fruit!
I was able to leave my bag at the hotel after checking out, and could get back in to retrieve it later using the door code, which was very useful.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you want something relatively cheap but comfortable, in the beautiful town of Le Mans (which is definitely worth visiting).  It's certainly not luxury accommodation, but it doesn't pretend to be!
