Château De Serrigny

What an experience! A real, privately owned château full of louis XV furniture and paintings surrounded by a moat. Breakfast was served by a man wearing white gloves and treating the original silver platters with deference. Slightly run down but this adds to its charm. Close to Beaune so perfect for wine tasting, we cycled the lanes and then picnicked by the side of the moat filled with ancient carp. Don’t miss this. It won’t be there forever. One last thing. There is no sign to say where to drive in, and no obvious place to park. Once in, leave your car next to the abandoned red vehicle then walk across the field and over the bridge. Obvious when you know how.
