Longdole

This is a purpose built B&B with 2 beautiful guest rooms. One with a double bed, the other 2 singles. The rooms are larger than average, both have French doors leading out onto a private terrace with lovely countryside views. The beds are extremely comfortable with no expense spared luxurious bedding. The shower rooms are some of the best ever, worthy of 4 stars I'd guess- very large, great shower, no bath which was fine with me, but wouldn't suit everyone. Breakfast was simply croissants with jam and tea/coffee. Very nice croissants fresh from the bakers in a nearby village, but I would have liked an option of fruit/ cereals/eggs/toast as well. Was the smallest breakfast I've had when staying in a B&B or hotel. The village is tiny with absolutely nothing there except some houses and I think a church, literally not a cafe or shop. The lovely hostess gave us directions to the nearest restaurant which is on it's own a few kilometres away, but unlucky for us it was closed the night we stayed. We drove for almost an hour searching for somewhere to eat supper, the whole area is really very quiet and as we were just out of season in September the small villages were like ghost towns. This is a lovely place to stay if you're looking for real quiet countryside away from everything.
