If you are dependant on public transport to discover the region, then this hotel is ideally placed. It is right next to the train and bus station, very practical as many trains and buses leave quite early in the morning. In many cities this would be a seedy part of town, but in Auray the area around the station is safe and quiet. There is also not much noise from traffic to bother you in the hotel. The hotel itself is very pleasant, really much better than I expected from a 2 star hotel. The room is simple but immaculate. The bathroom is small but the fittings are modern and in good working order. Nothing is rundown. I really can't think of anything negative. The owner is super friendly and helpful. She really makes you feel at home. The breakfast is fine for 6 euro. I stayed here for 4 nights and had no complaints. Maybe that it is a 20 minute walk to the city centre, and the local bus does not run after 8pm so you have to walk back to the hotel after dinner. But I did not find that problematic.
