We first stayed for Christmas with our college-age children and while we only saw a bit of the northern lights visible over the horizon one night, we had a wonderful time dog-sledding, snowshoeing at night and sitting by the cozy fireplace with drinks and snacks. The food was absolutely amazing (we’re still talking about the homemade bread) and they were incredibly accommodating of our various dietary restrictions. Everyone was so warm and friendly. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that my husband and I returned ourselves in March and had another wonderful long weekend (although, alas, still no northern lights). Highly recommend if you are looking for an arctic retreat.
