The chalet and the grounds was beautiful. The pick up point on site was very convenient for getting to events.  The staff were very responsive to emails before, during, and after our stay.  Definitely would visit this location again.

Wonderful experience staying in this Chalet. Very good communication and instruction from the rental company. The chalet was well located and very clean and well stocked. Really useful to have a sauna and a fireplace. Highly recommended.

Amazing chalets with fireplace and beautiful forest at your doorstep. The place was spotless clean, super cozy and had everything that we needed. The kitchen is well equipped. You will be able to do walks through the Winter Trials which are lighten up so you can go up to the Observatory Tower and have a fire there when it's pitch dark. 
Kids can sledge outside the cottage. There is a bus stop near by and the place is not super remote but I would say get a car when booking this place.

I stayed 10 days solo. The location was perfect as I could take the running trail straight from the door. The accommodation is located in Ounasvaara Park, which is an endless forest with well maintained trails. At the same time I was about 3 km away from the city center, and maybe 1km away from a big grocery store. I wish I could afford to stay longer. 

Very nice full wood cabin with very high ceiling on the common area. Felt like staying home. Fireplace on the common area built perfect mood in the dark nights of early autumn. Sauna 247 warm also nice. Skiing resort next doors and nice location almost on top of ounasvaara.Service was fantastic, got the cabin couple hours early.If I had to come up with something negative -  cabins could be spreaded out little bit and the air circulation in the cabin was little noisy.

We've been here with two small kids and they were absolutely enjoyd it. It is based almost in the middle of the city in a quiet wooded area. 
Our airline was striking and we needed to stay one more day. I just called the staff for extend our stay and they were very helpfull and quick.  
Not expensive compare to the area.

This was such an amazing place.
Yes it was not cheap but it was worth it 100%, and hope we will return and stay longer.

You may park your car on the side.
It has floor heating at the whole house.
A sauna, 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, lovely kitchen with all you need.
A fireplace, free internet, outdoor seating.
It’s full out of wood and it has its own personal charm.

It was so warm that we opened the small side window as we couldn’t sleep. It needed the option to open the window more. We switched off the floor heating.

The location was perfect too.
All in All we loved it!

Very cosy and spacious chalet, floor heating in every room, fire place and a nice sauna!
Exellent kitchin. Huge bathroom. Comfy beds. The location on top of the ski slopes in the forest is just great. And yet close to the town and supermarket. 15min drive to Santa villiage. My family and I really enjoyed our 3 nights stay there and would really love to get back there one day.

Amazing lodge and so picturesque. Only downside is can be a little remote and if don’t hire a car taxis are expensive.

Absolutely top gem in the area!

We were 5 staying in this fantastic chalet! Plenty of beds with two baths, a sauna and wood burning stove. Excellent facilities, well equipped and the heated floors (everywhere) were divine. We only stayed two nights but were really lucky to see the auroras on both nights. Wonderful nature trails starting from our backyard! Watch tower in in the woods nearby offered great view of sunsets! Highly, highly recommended for families and couples!

Amazing chalet on forest overlooking Rovaniemi!

This place is enchanting. We've traveled in March 2019 with my family including 2 children age 8 and 2. Safartica is the company managing this property. They offered to us the best customer service and fulfill every request we had to ask. 
We took the train from Helsinki to Rovaniemi. Another beautiful experience for the kids.
We reserved two cabins with bunk beds, bathroom and shower. Very comfortable.
You can book the train online (IC265 going up and IC266 going back to Helsinki). You can fly as well if you don't like the train.
The chalet is just fantastic. 3 bedrooms with 6 beds, full kitchen, 2 bathroom, one with inside sauna. Washer and dryer. Cozy Fireplace. Just all you need to live like home.
The hotel Sky Ounaasvaaran is at walking distance, were you can use their restaurant or just spend few hours having a drink. Also Grocery market is 20-25 minutes walking.
Plenty of tours available. It is cold but surprisingly not as cold as we thought. Helsinki was much colder.
Visit the close Santa Claus village (20-25 Euros by taxi). You can cross the Arctic Circle line right there. Husky and reindeer tour available at extra cost. Meet with Santa (free entrance, but then they offer pictures and video at extra cost if you want to purchase).

Winter paradise

Accidentally came across this place when searching for self catering accommodation in Rovaniemi and couldn't have chosen a better place. So glad we did not book another chalet in the vicinity which was smaller.

This place is run by Safartica office in town but we had such good email correspondence and instructions that we did not need to visit or even call them during our stay.

Sited on the hill just 3 km from the town and about 1.5km from a good supermarket yet it's location makes it quiet, seem remote and in the woods. A beautiful setting in the middle of winter arriving in the snow to chalets which are duplex style with Christmas tree  lit up inside and Nordic style lights lit up on the window sill. We had a rental car which we are glad we had so we could come and go or pop to the supermarket whenever we wanted.

Very warm to the point that lighting the fireplace made it too hot. Very well fitted out with heated floors, a small foyer to dress/undress from the cold, a drying cupboard for wet clothing, 2 bathrooms - larger one downstairs with sauna and washing machine and small one upstairs, kitchen well stocked with crockery and cooking implements as well as dishwasher, microwave, full hob/oven, toaster, coffee maker, 2 bedrooms with 2 singles each - one upstairs one downstairs, a roomy mezzanine area with another 2 singles, dining table for 6, wood shed off the front deck with toboggan for use. For what we had imagined was a very small house was actually quite roomy for the 5 of us and we had no problems spending prolonged periods inside together.

So magical to be able to step right outside the door into the snow. Hiking trails on the hill just close by. Ounasvaara Sky Hotel up the hill if you feel like a classy dinner and we hear if you are lucky the restaurant roof can be a good place to view the Northern lights. Ounasvaara Ski Resort about 4 km away - the slopes under floodlights we almost had to ourselves at 3pm on a weekday during school term.

Excursion companies that pick up do so either from your chalet or the Safartica pick up area.

Be aware there is no daily servicing and the place is purely self cater but if that is what you are looking for this place is perfect. We have no hesitation to stay here again in winter and indeed would have been happy to stay longer than the 7 nights we had here.

Perfect accommodation in the snow

Where to start?!  Gorgeous chalet, away from the the town but still near enough to accomodate our family.  We stayed late December and my son loved that he was able to decorate the Christmas tree provided upon arrival.  The chalet was clean and tidy, very spacious with room for 6 guests, loved the sauna and shed with toboggans which we were able to use directly out our front door.  Check in was very easy using the lock box service.  We did not want to leave.  Would 100% come back or recommend for other guests.  Worth every cent.
