Hands down the best hostel in Skopje!! Highly recommend this place, owners are really helpful and chilled out! One of the best hostels I’ve stayed at in Europe. Perfect for solo travellers and perfect location aswel. If your coming to Skopje solo this is the place to stay!

Maki (the CEO of the hostel) always went the extra mile to make sure that all of the guests were happy.  He would listen to them and then intently give the best advice that he knew in not only traveling, but everything.  He would socialize and try best to make it so that everyone was happy and I truly appreciate him for doing that.  Not only this, he also made sure that you had a great breakfast each morning as well with fresh yogurt, adjvar, cheese, eggs, bread and perfectly made coffee.  It didn't stop there for he also got me burek on my first day and then he would get great rakija from a reputable maker so the evenings were happy.  He also bought boxed wine a few times for all the guests.  Things like this don't get unnoticed and I for sure can appreciate such hospitality.  I felt so guilty at the end for indulging in all the hospitality that I had to get him a bottle of good Bourburn as a gift and a token of my appreciation for being so hospitable. Thanks for the great time and I hope that we meet again someday:)

Owners are great people, very personable, helpful.  Won't hesitate to explain this or give directions for that.  Great location, and within 10 minute walking distance to main tourist areas. I was able to drive, and location was easy to find, and parking was nearby.

We were super lucky to stay in shanti hostel. It's very well located so that you're just taking 10 min by walk to be at the main square. The bus and train station is not even 5 min by walk. The hostel is very clean and it offers free breakfast with toast and cornflakes. Coffee and tea is for free as well. There's a small kitchen with all the equipment you need to cook. Most important: the staff is awesome! They're very gently, open-minded, helpful and speak English fluently. They'll give you recommendations what to do, how to get there and how to find the cheapest solution. You can check in 24/7. Since everything is so cosy the atmosphere is super nice, people are chilled and cool. We had a perfect stay!

Pros: right by the bus station, easy to explore the city from the hostel. 
Great staff: lots of tips and very friendly.
Clean. Towels provided.
Breakfast included (basic toast and cereal)
Kitchen and living area. Very social and easy to meet people.
Cons: the beds in the 4 person dorm don’t have curtains like the picture show & people walk in and out to use the balcony for laundry. 
 Overall would definitely recommend for a good stay in Skopje!

The Shanti hostel is a nice and clean place to stay. Staff is very friendly and willing to help and explain things about the city. 15min walk to the centre and 10min walk to the central bus station. Would really recommend this small and relaxed hostel!

We stayed in their apartment which is very close to their hostel, however, the breakfast and check-in is done at the hostel itself. This apartment had everything that we needed, it's pretty much centrally located and in a close proximity to the train / bus station of Skopje, Vero shopping center & the city center / old town. The breakfast provided was sufficient too. The apartment was clean & well maintained. We got only most positive emotions from interacting with the owner's of this hotel to whom this apartment belongs to. We would definitely stay here again if we visit Skopje (unless this apartment is not booked by somebody else!). Petar, best regards to you & your wife!

I have been a guest at Shanti numerous times over the last two-and-a-half years; I stayed there on my last night in North Macedonia.  Winter or summer, busy or slow, the level of service and comfort never changes.  Maki, Petar, Bile, Kiki and the rest of the staff are always focused on guest comfort and enjoyment.  The premises are clean and well-kept, the beds comfortable, the bathrooms clean, well-stocked and with good water pressure.  The location is excellent- a five-minute walk from the bus/train transit center;  a ten-minute walk from the city center.  I highly recommend Shanti to anyone who wants an affordable hostel with amenities that others charge more for.
