This is a charming cottage in the main city of Douglas. Lots of sights to enjoy nearby.  It keeps the quaint style of the Isle of old. Not far from the ferry port, restaurants and the promenade.   Fun experience.  

Our room was very spacious and the bed was very comfy. Lovely touch leaving biscuits in the room also. 
The breakfast was perfect and the staff were very friendly and helpful. 
The location was good with the seafront just a short 2 minute walk away and plenty of restaurants within east walking distance. It was also handy for free parking on the street. 

Not the newest but nicely decorated, clean and warm rooms. Little bits that went wrong like bulbs out were attended to promptly. Breakfast in the HQ bar was very good indeed, generous portions. Evening meals were clearly cooked freshly and top class products use, everyone commented when we had steak how good it was and nicely cooked. Will go again.

Excellent bedroom - clean & comfortable & well-serviced. Fairly spacious. Corridor areas would benefit from some DIY - but brilliant artwork! Breakfast lets this Hotel down, if anything. They are serving Breakfast to 3 Hotels in one crowded room - & nothing is co-ordinated. Fruit plentiful - but keeps running out - as does coffee & scrambled egg. Bacon is a perfect quality - but, again, keeps running out. And the self-service rolling toaster is set at far too high a temperature [ can't be turned lower by Guests!].  So these Hotels need a competent Breakfast Manager whose only job is to draw all the bits together. Another 20 seats are needed as well. Best of all would be some hot croissants, some Madeira Cake, cold ham, cold cheese. Whoever planned Glen Mona Breakfasts had no imagination... eg. Hard-boiled eggs should always be on the hatch.  And Reception needs somebody sitting there!

Stayed for 1 night Saturday gone they  let me check in early executive suite ok size whirl pool bath good size bed clean tidy 3 flight of stairs to climb  1minute walk to promenade 15minute walk to town centre staff very helpful and freindly will book again.

Stayed for week of  Manx Grand Prix.
Room was smaller than I liked.
Housekeeping and breakfast needs improvement. We have a Teddy that's travelled the globe with us, Thurs 24th and Tuesday 29th housekeeping need a medal, they placed it in funny situation.i will add photos, Other day's I struggle to think room was touched. 
Breakfast was complete hit and miss, some item's cold, coffee was good. Bit of rush most mornings. 
All staff I had contact with were lovely 🌹
Stairs bit of climb but ok.
Price ok but expected more after reading website.

The hotel is set in an ideal position close to the beach.  We went with 2  grandchildren aged 8 and 9 to visit all my family.  
The room (a family room was massive) and as there was a guest lounge we also used that to watch tv .
It was a bit strange having to go up the hill to another hotel (the hotel is a set of 3) for breakfast. - Bit of a hike for hubby who has had a stroke and struggles a bit walking.
The morning after we arrived I went to the main reception to advise we could not get the wifi.  The man said it wasnt their fault it would be the provider !.  I got in touch with Manx Telecom who asked me all sorts or weird questions so I went back up to the main hotel in the evening when we had been out for the day.
The grandsons thought it was the end of the world but I was also unhappy as I couldnt keep in touch with their parents (my son and wife) and other things you need wifi for. 
worse than that I couldnt even make a call or send a text off my phone as the problem even affected that.
The lady (manager ?) at the hotel was fantastic and jumped in to help and called Manx Telecom - we knew at this stage we would have this problem for the rest of our stay)
The grandsons would have liked to go on their ipads whilst we were getting ready and for the last hour at bed time but they couldnt
The first day for breakfast was great as a buffet breakfast.  The grandsons are fussy eaters so it was easy to get a slice of toast and an egg then go back for a sausage or bacon or hash brown.. They dont eat much.  On the 2nd day you had to order what you wanted for breakfast so this came a bit of a challenge for them.  **(this is why we chose a hotel with a buffet breakfast)***  
On our last day for breakfast there was no white bread to make toast...no way would they have brown (plus me and hubby dont like brown toast)  So the grandsons decided as they couldnt have toast with egg or sausage they wouldnt have anything.... We were going out for the day and travelling home on the 7.45pm boat so needed them to eat.
I popped out and got a loaf of white bread (how mad is that ?? - there is a spar 5 mins away and shopright is just up the road - easy in a car)
I offered my white bread to others but was left with half a loaf which i left in the room after (incase they needed it haha)
I also feel the hotel is a bit isolated from the main building it just doesnt feel like a hotel and for the price we paid I think it was a bit poor
For this reason I only gave a 3 score.  
I go back to the Island 3 or 4 times a year and usually stay nearby but couldnt on this occassion.
Would we stay here again?? not at this particular hotel - maybe the main building.
But still disappointed in some of the service (not from the lady manager ?? who tried so so hard - thanks)

Dates of stay: 30th June to 2nd July. - Room was very small for a double, and VERY noisy! Nice view of drainpipes, and the back of other properties fro the window(!).... The main problem was NOISE - noisy music from neighbours, creaking floor from room above woke me up at 04.45 on first night, as guest got up..... spring-load door-closers slam every internal door shut with a bang!, Neighbours shouting/talking loudly at 03.00 a.m. "waterfall" sound effects from leaking drain opposite room, cooing pigeons, squawking seaguls and even, road-works outside! I had 3 hours sleep on my final night. Shattered, I went back to bed after breakfast only to find they started testing the fire alarm for 30 minutes at 09.00!!! Why couldn't they do this AFTER check-out time?  Breakfast was reasonable, but sausages could have been better quality!
Unfortunately, the response from the owner to my review on another site was to effectively call me a liar! That in itself has prompted me to leave a review here on Tripadvisor.....
I said the room was was very small for a double. He said the room was spacious...(how can a room be called spacious when the door collides with the bed on opening?
He claimed the fire alarm was tested at 10.00 a.m (it wasn't  - it was immediately after breakfast at 09.00...) - but why would 10.00 a.m have been any more acceptable when check out time was 11.00? Why could they not have waited until guests had checked out?
He said I was informed of the fire alarm test when I booked in - I wasn't - but again if I had  - how would that have helped me sleeep?
I said I had been disturbed by roadworks outside. He said that the only roadworks were "a disused property" a short distance away, and that no work was done on that building that day - this may be true - but there WAS work going on at the fenced off area near the pavement at the bottom of the street!.....
I said the sausages at breakfast were of poor quality - he said they were high quality and sourced from a local butcher....Local butcher or not, they were amongst the worst I have had with any breakfast....
To be fair, most of the noise issues were beyond the immediate control of the owners of this hotel - but nevertheless -  were a major part of the experience of staying at this property, which is why I mentioned them! but there were some things that could have been improved - like the timing of the fire alarm test, the noisy internal doors, and the size of the room. The owners would be well advised to put their efforts into addressing the problems, instead of trying to discredit genuine reviews by their customers!
