Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana - All Inclusive

I just returned from this resort and I have to say I was very impressed fast security check.... Arrival at the Airport When we arrived we were greeted by our Air Canada rep at the airport, they advised where to go and catch the bus, we were quickly moved along to the loading area where we boarded the bus, the rep told us about the meet and greet that we were to attend the next morning at 9:30am to meet the AC rep at the hotel, what he failed to mention is this a up sell to meet the rep ( Emmanuel) who will let you know about the resorts features and tour packages they want to sell you, the rep on the bus did not mention that the 9:30am session was in French only, which really left a lot of us very frustrated, as Emmanuel at the hotel was very abrupt and stand-offish when we said we were all told to be at the theatre for this time we were not impressed to find out that we would have to come back in a hour to do it in English? we were not informed of this which was very frustrating as Emmanuel would not let us know the pick up time at the hotel for our return flight home, which most of us only wanted, we would have rather spend time on the beach / pool not sit thru a long speech ... This was the part I was not impressed with, lack of customer service provided by the Air Canada Rep Emmanuel at the hotel not very helpful at all. Arrival at the hotel and the staff at the resort I just returned from this resort and I have to say I was very impressed. The Bell hops at the hotel are all very friendly and very attentive, they collect your bags, give you a baggage tag and direct you towards the check in desk, They have welcome drinks in the lobby for you, all the staff were happy, and smiling. When we arrived we were greeted by a very nice lady (Sandra) at the check-in desk, my friend and I requested side by side rooms and we were accommodated without any issues, we booked a Jr suite with our tour operator and had requested this at the time we booked and they advised us to ask when we arrived, and Sandra delivered, she is very friendly, very patient and had excellent customer service. Rooms: We wee placed in 2 villa's a 2-min walk to the beach or pool, beautiful very clean with a walkout balcony with 2 chair and a table if you wanted to sit outside the rooms were both fully equipped with a in-room safe, coffee maker, fully stock fridge with water, pop, bathrooms have shampoo, conditioner and body wash Food Options & Restaurants: You have so many options to eat in this resort and a wide variety to choose from if you are vegetarian, love seafood, fresh fruit and salads you certainly get your fair share at the many restaurants, Bouganvilla Main Restaurant, Beach Restaurant, Food Truck La Isla all have international cuisine, and don't forget the A-La Carte Restaurants: Tequila ( Mexican),Thali (Indian) The Greek (Greek) Las Olas (Brazilian), Fish Market( Fish and Seafood), Capriccio ( Italian), Maiko ( Japenese) & the lobby bar for your cocktails, and coffee/tea Restaurants at the Resort: Bouganville Main Restaurant ( Buffet) Huge variety and selection of food options for Breakfast/Lunch or Dinner ... Fresh fruit, salads, hot food selection. cold food section and a huge dessert bar with a coffee /tea station great for everyone young and old. We had some amazing staff here at the restaurant, a HUGE shout out to Randy and Oliver, who were exceptional and so attentive to my friend and I, they treated us so special every morning we went in for our breakfast or lunch or in the evening if we went for dinner, both of these 2 servers I mentioned to the manager need to be promoted, they have exceptional customer service, both of them went above and beyond they are true gentlemen with beautiful smiles,both have exceptional customer service & skills, they pay attention to detail, they work very hard are fast and efficient and they both work well with their team a huge shout out to Mayb, and Ramona both of these ladies were so sweet, attentive, great customer service. The 4 of these servers checked in on us, cleared the tables and stocked up our water and champagne thank you again Randy, Oliver Mayb and Ramona for making our holiday so special and memorable A-La Carte Restaurants: With our tour operator we had 4 to choose from, this resort has many food options for all the foodies out their and for anyone's palate you will not be disappointed. We chose the Mediterranean one which was in the adults only resort a beautiful restaurant with exceptional service and food selections all the staff were so attentive, friendly. The next one was the Japanese one where they cook in front of you, it was very entertaining with great customer service by all the staff. The next one we chose was the Fish Market if you like seafood go here! was one of our favourites all the staff was helpful and again friendly we had 2 servers Romana and another gentlemen who went above and beyond the portion sizes are very large so be mindful as you will not leave hungry. Amazing views from the restaurant of the resort. The last option we chose was the Brazilian one, beautiful views near the Villager members section white sand beach, this was nice to visit but we were greeted by a very rude hostess, she was very stand-offish towards us, we had a reservation an when I told her my time which we arrived on time for she rudely put up her hand and snapped back to me saying "wait here" I didn't hear what she said and proceeded to walk behind her thinking she was motioning us to follow her and she rudely said to me " I said wait here" I was not impressed by her rudeness and certainly she should not be the front desk person at this very popular restaurant she seated us on the deck with no menu to scan she should NOT be the person doing the greeting to the guest for this hotel, and restaurant terrible customer service and very rude and ignorant towards us we had to asked another server who apologised an then gave us the menu to scan and review. If you go here my suggestion is eat lighter in the day as you will eat, and eat.... All the other servers and staff here all went above and beyond truly treat you special, all of them have excellent customer service and skills lots of variety, on the buffet when you pick your appetizers, and meat selection. Beach Bar and Restaurants: If you go to the trunk bar ask for Radelky he is so amazing, very friendly, helpful and has a upbeat personality. I have to say off all the restaurants bars by a pool/beach this was top notch exceptionally clean, no garbage laying around all the staff were attentive, friendly very helpful they kept this place looking pristine the washrooms were fully stocked and very very clean, all the staff at the beach bars worked so hard they all deserve to be rewarded for their hard work. Guest Services: I want to say thank you to Delvina who helped us to do the bookings for all the A-La Carte restaurants she was so sweet, and kind, gave us the options and suggestions and was very helpful. I also want to personally thank Miguel who was extremely helpful when we went to speak to him, we had an issue with one of the tours we booked in Canada and when the tour operator on site in the DR didn't show up to pick us up at the hotel Miguel jumped in and addressed the issue he was extremely patient, very kind, checked in on us and followed up to make sure we got our refund, he has exceptional customer service skills, he is a true gentleman and a great asset to the resort. Thank you both for making our stay at the resort so memorable we certainly will be back. Entertainment for Kids and Adults Kids Entertainment This resort has so many options for kids, young teenagers, and adults you will never be bored so many things to do if you want too... or you can relax in the lobby and have a drink or a coffee and admire the views. Kids play area at the front of the resort and kids play pool area and wave pool The nightly entertainment is amazing I really have to say if you have kids they really put on a show for the kids to enjoy and interact with each night is a different show filled with dancing and singing. At the Fantasia hotel they have nightly fireworks for everyone to enjoy this is a very popular spot for the kids as this is a kid friendly hotel Adult entertainment You have options to dance in the lobby or sit back and listen to the nightly entertainment, or visit the theatre where they have some shows on, the night club or the casino plenty of options there is also plenty of shops onsite or the onsite village to visit to shop. Spa Onsite there is a spa, if you want a massage of any services ( facial, hair treatments, manicure/ pedicure) definitely you need to check this out. Gym For all of you that need your daily workout Trains/Trolleys Available at all the train stops to take you around the resort this take you to the main lobby, the many resorts onsite, pools or beach as the resort is massive so you definitely will need to hop on board one of these to take you around.. Overall a wonderful relaxing time away, nice clean pools and surrounding areas and a very clean resort, very well maintained, staff are constantly cleaning painting around the villa's, nice landscape lawns and garden areas nice beach a bit of seaweed but was cleaned by the staff daily. Very Friendly staff, beautiful resort I am looking forward to what the main lobby will look like in 2 years and the new restaurants opening soon... I look forward to coming back :) Suggestions for the Hotel/Air Canada Only suggestion for the hotel would be to look at the Air Canada representation as this was very disappointing, Emmanuel was not very helpful when we were leaving the resort we were told to be in the lobby for 11am most of us were there by 10:30am , when we went to look for him he was MIA no where to be found, when we did find him he was sitting idle on the phone in the theatre we had to follow up numerous times with him, he was not at all helpful and a poor representative for Air Canada and for this resort he needs some re-training on how to work with customers and how to be more attentive and personable we were left in the lobby for 1 hour and 45 mins and his response was oh well... Really ? and the hostess at the Brazilian restaurant she needs some re-training on customer service etiquette and how to work in a customer service environment..
