This is a great resort for families, friends and singles, who just want to relax and enjoy the weather and sun. Our stay was very memorable predominately because all of the staff, cooks and bartenders. We did not encounter any problems or issues. In fact, the resort is very clean and quick service. The beach and pools were maintained on a daily basis. We didn't have to walk very far to get to the beach. The weather was perfect, just like the people of Dominican Republic. The food was absolutely delicious, everything was fresh and available. The fresh fish and smoothies are worth the try and wait. The entertainment team was superb they were  engaging, pleasant and fun! I definitely learnt alot about the Dominican culture and people. The view is great, so take lots of pictures. Super safe environment, for anyone who is apprehensive about travelling to the Caribbean.

Whala Bavaro is conveniently located by the beach, easily accessible to taxi services and secured 24/7. All the staff I encountered on my trip were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Whala Bávaro was an inclusive hotel environment with lots of great guest from different backgrounds. I met people from all over the world including France, Chile, Italy, Russian, Canada and Us. 
All adults and kids were encouraged to participate in daily activities. This was a great way to start conversations, meet new people, network, and build new relationships. With great staff, delicious food, drinks full of flavors this is an amazing hotel. 
The staff was very accommodating. We requested a bedroom with 2 beds and they were able to resolve the issue in a timely manner. The beach was 5minutes from the hotel and the hotel included 3 pools. I did not encounter any issues and any concerns I had was address. I will highly recommend staying at this hotel if you want a relaxing vacation with friendly staff, fun activities and great food.

We wanted a week away from stress of work and we got it here for sure. We pre-arranged our transport and it all went very smoothly. Arrived early evening and greeted by a nice receptionist. Staff are a great bunch and nothing was too much trouble for them and they helped with luggage (but we had to ask), call taxis, organize transfer and be friendly! The room was always spotless with fresh bedding but very basic decor. Air conditioning worked really well but a bit noisy.The beach is is sandy and nice and never crowded, although we prefered to stay poolside.
We enjoyed every relaxing minute we spent here and a big thank you to the staff.

I am leaving a review about my experience at the hotel last month - a very positive one at that. We enjoyed our room and were made to feel very at home. The variety of the food at the restaurant was enough to keep us happy for almost a week, and thats saying a lot, almost three meals a day.

All of the pools are well maintained, clean and cheery. Being as its Bavaro Beach there are many activities, not just at the hotel with the pool, restaurant, bar etc but also water sports, exploration, and more.

Stayed 10 nights but had good time here. We stayed in a twin room. Was simple in way it was decorated and not fancy at all but beds pretty comfy and more importantly clean sheets and towels. Cleaners left fresh towels and cleaned around too and shower was great but water was salty. Booked room only basis so don’t know about food at hotel but can say drinks we had at bar were always good and barman was very friendly. Reception staff also very nice to us. It’s very close to beach so liked that. There are lot’s of small typical touristy cafes and bars and restaurants all over the place, so easy for eating out but hygiene not great. Didn’t spend much time in hotel as wanted to make the most of our days but it did us really well for what we wanted. Beach is amazing but the coconut vendors are a pain. 10 nights too long, make it 7 and you'll enjoy it more!

Upon arrival the hotel set the tone by being extremely welcoming and generous, checking in was fast, they were expecting us, and they escorted us to our room with our bags, friendly all throughout the stay truly. We did have a minor issue with the telephone line when we got there, but we told them and left to lunch and it was fixed as soon as we were back from eating, honestly the service is wonderful. The beach is just a few feet away, its a smaller hotel in the sense of I dont think they have many rooms, there are not thousands of people here competing for beach beds or buffet lines, thankfully. I would not hesitate to return or recommend it.

The staff are really friendly, and as any traveler knows, employees can make or break a vacation, and happy to report back that they absolutely "made" ours! We got the all inclusive package, it made sense to us because we were not planning on leaving the hotel at all really, we just wanted to lay by the beach all day, and happily the food was good, but a little repetitive. The beauty of the hotel is the beach and the little jungle or nature that surrounds the areas and gardens, very calming and great. Rate the hotel a solid four out of five.

Of all the reasonably priced hotels in Bavaro Beach, to my experience this has been the best, and we've already been to DR twice before, we plan on returning and we'll come back here. The room was super clean and gave us no issues at all, I would mention to the staff as a suggestion to give more towels and maybe leave extra soft pillow options in the closet for particular guests like us. The hotel is quiet, I slept well and slept in every day. Service at the restaurant was somewhat slow for food, but the orders were always correct and we very much enjoyed the variety of food.

I did the all inclusive option to make thing easier and after extensive traveling I really think its the way to go if the hotel offers it, again found good value overall in doing it at this hotel over Christmas. Its a really quiet place which for us was a plus because we just wanted to disconnect and relax at the beach, the room was decent but clean. Overall a four start time.

The photos of Whala! bavaro are desiving, the hotel is very small. they do have three pools but they are very small with little to no seating around them. the hotel only has one very small buffet and one restrant which takes 3 hours to eat a three course meal which was a 3/10. All the bars on the resort close at 11 pm. Most of the staff only speaks spanish and are little to no help when you need added aminites. it took over three days for us to get a blanket to our room which we had to pick up from the front desk becuase it was taking so long. the location is very central and has plenty of restrants near by with very good dominican food. The hotel will scam you on the exchange rate hiking the price up over 15 CAD. The beach is beautiful but as we walked along the beach ventors harrash us over 8 times in a 15 minuet walk ...... if you are looking to just relax by the pool and are not picky eater or any diatery restrictions whala is perfect for you otherwise i would recommend spending the extra money and going somewhere with more ammenites. this is an elderly person resort.we did have a good time but would not come back.
