Majestic Elegance Punta Cana - All Inclusive

Majestic Elegance Travelling with family, kids and teens…3 words to describe my experience at this hotel WOW but as everything in life, there is always room for improvements: Pros ~ 1. Beautiful hotel, loved the layout and how everything come together. My favorite time of the day to enjoy the beautiful view and ambience was at night. It did take me 1-2 days to get familiar but then everything was closer and made sense. The staff does a great job to keep everything clean and neat. 2. The pools are amazing, there are plenties of chairs and difference sections with different vibes. If you need to relax you can stay at the very beginning of the pool, but if you want fun and to participate in the several games they offer you can stay at the family pool. They even have a small section with jets. The kids made friends with other kids which was really nice. 3. The people - I really like the crowd that the hotel attracts which is a mix(kids/teens to adults) so nobody feels left out. I also like how strict the hotel is about clothes, not allowing over revealing clothes in restaurants, even in the buffet. So it’s on a classy family side, which was one of the reasons I’ve picked this hotel for our family get away. 4. The restaurants are good, my favorite one was the stake house (which was great for me ), make sure you try their tenderloin you won’t be disappointed and believe it or not they also have the best grilled salmon there and an avocado salad with passion fruit sauce so delicious. The hibachi was also very good. The Buffet was a hit and miss but we were never hungry. They do not offer food truck options by the pool or beach area (which is a pity) so going to the buffet after 3pm you might be at risk of not much food left since everyone go to eat there. 5. Entertainment - we all loved everything they had to offer, the shows were amazing, you can tell that they work really hard to provide you with a great time. The hotel crowd during my stay was fun and very live participating in the Karaoke(including me and my kids) and games. 6. The bedrooms - the bedrooms are big and well kept. Yes they are a bit outdated but I believe the hotel is old so I wasn’t expected anything different than what we found. We loved the layout and the beds were comfortable. The room service could be better, they missed us once but we called later and they sent people right away to clean. 7. The beach is beautiful and you have absolutely nothing to worry about the location. Unfortunately we could only enjoy the beach 2 days out of the 7 days we were there because of Mother Nature sending Sargassum to the entire ocean. Again the staff of the hotel was diligently working early morning to clean the beach but nothing more they could do as the beach was unsuitable for swimming. Cons ~ 1. A family member is extremely allergic to all kinds of nuts and sesame seeds. I don’t think this is an issue in their culture but for others it can be a life and death situation. In a few occasions we were giving food with nuts on it or on the sauce even though we were always cautious and asked zillion questions about the food. We did not expect them to know everything, but this is to inform you that if you have an allergy please make sure you ask questions and anything with sauce should be avoided. To avoid cross contamination it would be nice if the hotel comes up with a small section of nut free sweets. It’s a large hotel so it’s probably hard to remember the exceptions. 2. I did find them a bit disorganized during buffet (mind you, they are busy but have lots of employees which some of them seem to be there doing the same thing on the same sections). Getting coffee was a bit disappointing because there was only one person to cover a large area. The hotel should put more people serving coffee on the table. 3. I missed having a food truck closer to the pool as in other resorts. I strongly believe that this would take the burden off the buffet. I get that perhaps they want to avoid food getting into the pools but they have space to put some eating tables by the drink bar at the pool area so not sure why they don’t have it. If you are hungry, you need to dry yourself, put some clothes and go to one of their buffets which for us kind of kill the vibe and kids after that didn’t want to come back to the pool. 4. Room service wasn’t great for me because it took them 1 hr and 10 min. They had apologized for the delay but if you consider that we were at the ground floor area and literally 5 min from the main buffet where breakfast is served that is a lot of time. The only reason I’ve asked was because my daughter wasn’t feeling well and they do not allow you to take food out of the restaurant (which I totally understand). Again I feel that there is some disconnection that needs to be addressed. Overall it was an amazing experience in paradise and yes i would recommend and hoping to come back one day again.
