Balliwood B&B

It is called ‘Balliwood’ because it is located in the village of Ballen, which is also the terminal point for the Sealand ferry, which is under a mile away. This makes the B&B conveniently located for anyone coming from the East of Denmark. You are a two minutes’ walk from the village harbour and there is a bus stop about 30 yards from the front door. The room was clean and cosy, the bathroom had floor heating and was equipped which an extremely spacious shower and an electronically-activated mirror. The fridge was stocked with wine and local beers and juices; a water kettle was also provided. A price list for the beverages stands atop the fridge. There is wi-fi throughout. Breakfast, which was served until 9:00, was wholesome. They provide these little omelettes that look like cakes. The room was on the ground floor and directly accessible from the street. It had these typical Danish windows that open outwards and have to be fastened with hooks. Blinds and curtains keep out the light, but Ballen goes very dark at night in any case. The owners organise tours of the island in an antique bus, but unfortunately, I am not sufficiently proficient in Danish to partake and my partner knows no Danish at all. I am sure these tours are quite interesting. They are knowledgeable people and can provide you with any local information you require. I have no complaints whatsoever and can certainly recommend this B&B.
