We stayed for a few days last summer, I wanted to leave a review as we loved it!! We got very lucky and we're given an apartment with a fabulous sea view - we didn't pay for one but it would be worth the money.

Apartment is a good size, clean and we'll equipped.  We loved eating out on the veranda and kids used the wife loads.

Staff were very pleasant and kindly helped us in English.  Supermarket a 100 metres away, beach not much more, attractions 20 minutes by car. 

Born Holm is a lovely island and very few bits go there so it's a hidden gem.

We have been to Bornholm twice and during our second holiday we stayed at Gudhjem Sopark. It is excellent place for summer holiday. Our apartment was perfect, clean, comfortable, large and equipped by modern furniture and appliances. Although there are many houses / apartments for rent in the Sopark, it is very quiet, pleasant and safe place (as well as whole island). I recommend to take an apartment on the second floor where you will have beautiful seaview. The kitchen in the apartment has microwave oven, cooker, dishwasher and it is completely equipped by dishware. Bathroom was also nice and clean with washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a supermarket nearby. Gudhjem town is only few minutes of walking. There are many restaurants and café, shops and very nice small port. Gudhjem itself is in my opinion the most beautiful town on Bornholm.

Beautiful holidays

So, if you are from North America, The UK, or somewhere outside the general Shengen area, forget this place. The apartment we had was nice, but bare. No soaps (dishwasher, laundry, bath), no ice in the fridge, no sheets, no anything. Upon check-in we found out you can rent sheets at the reception, for around $120 USD. They looked a bit worn and tired, so we made a go without sheets for three nights. To power up our rum and cokes on the deck We bought a two pound bag of ice (never seen one that small) at the small grocery for around $4. But the troubles began way earlier. Having booked on Booking.com we thought we had a reservation, and were ready to show up. A week or so prior to arrival, we got an email that our payment was overdue. Calling the booking agent Teambornholm, we were advised they didn't accept any credit cards whatsoever, and needed to do a bank transfer. An extra 30 GBP later for the transfer, we were really good to go. They are not used to Western folks, and will likely never be, given the way they run things. Flying across the Atlantic with bedding is not feasible.
