Guesthouse Novak is an extremely central location right around the corner from the bell tower in Hvar's main square. We stayed for 4 nights in the end of August and paid less than $50US a night and For that price in Hvar it was a steal. Our room was large and clean and the shared bathroom was always immaculate. Owners live downstairs and are always available if you need something. Would recommend for travelers not expecting luxury!
