Very accommodating! We had triple room, with comfortable beds and lovely terrace. Bathroom was wide and clean. They change the towels every day, it is more of the hotel then hostel. Staff is just amazing! Ro, who is working at the reception was so friendly and helpful. Highly recommended, great value for the money! 

Its so beautiful and really nice staff. It looks really beautiful around the rooms too with hammocks and a little waterfal. And its superclose to santa elena town. Loved it!!! The reception is really helpful and helps you get the best tours for ypu personally. Breakfast is really good and just a really cute place to stay. Easy access to the cloud forests with shuttles.

People were very friendly and helpful. I did have a private room which was very clean and spacious.  I enjoyed the breakfast and watching the monkeys on the roof.  The grounds are very pretty with flowers, paintings, and hammocks.  The location is in the town triangle and easy to find.  I really enjoyed my stay and have recommended this place to my family.

Very accommodating! The hosts are great and JeanCarlo was very helpful! It was quiet and clean with a nice kitchen on the premises. There are hammocks to hang out in and it is very close to the shops and activities near by.

Had a great time at this hotel. Rooms are clean and beds are super comfy. Breakfast in the morning is also great and cheap!  Hotel manager is very polite and informative. Very good location for in town.

We traveled as a family of three adults. This place is one of the best options, close to the center of town, easily accessible to tour buses.  Breakfast was included and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. Recommend booking tours through this hotel. 

Choose rooms at the back of the hotel if you can and in the second level. The rooms are a little small for three people but adequate.  Plan to dress warmly if visiting in winter

Great Value and Comfortable Lodging

Great location!

Great spot in Monteverde!

My first impression was that the room is really cold. We knew Santa Elena/ Monteverde is colder than the rest of Costa Rica, but we didn’t expect to get SO cold at night! The doors and window had cracks so we had literally wind in the room. That combined with no warm blanket made the night tough. The kitchen definitely needs refreshing. Everything is REALLY worn off. But the location is very good and staff is nice :) in my opinion it should be cheaper :)

Quite basic, suprisingly cold

I stayed one night in a dormatory.  It was super loud at 1am even though they had security.  The room only had one electricity plug super high on the ceiling so it was basically impossible to charge anything.  The bathroom was stinky and they didn't even have anything to dry your hands off. The included breakfast consists of 1 toast on egg and two super small slices of fruit and they won't give you extra toast even if you ask.  When I checked out I told the manger these things after he asked if I enjoyed my stay.  But after telling him these things in a polite manner he just wanted to get rid of me.  The next night they didn't have a bed available so I got a place over couch surfing.  The guy was super creepy so I left super early in the morning and went back to the hostel to the room of friends.  I didn't sleep there but the manager was not understanding at all and still charged me the full amount and didn't give me breakfast which normally is included.  I asked for his name so I could write an email to the owner to explain my experience.  He then told me that he would call the cops.  I knew that I was right and I wouldn't have gotten into trouble but it just wasn't worth the trouble for me.  I recommend the pension  Santa Elena.  3 dollar cheaper nicer rooms and friendlyer employee's aswell as better breakfast.

Just terrible

The hostel was not very good. Very small breakfast barely big enough for a child, the guy on the front desk Emiliano was very cheeky! He lied to us and told us there was no mixed dorms which was ok because we wanted a nice private room, clearly a lie though because there was no one there. Then he recommended a night tour which was more expensive than others because it was meant to be private. Turns out he just lied to us again because when we arrived it wasn’t to a conservation area. But to a dusty farm which surprise surprise he worked at. We do not recommend this hostel!! And NEVER EVER EVER DO THE DON RODOLFO NIGHT TOUR. It’s literally in a paddock surrounded buy barking dogs and screaming children. We saw 2 birds on the two hour walk and paid $60 u.s dollars. They where licking there lips haha. Two thumbs down for this hostel and Emilio.
