We experienced great 3 nights at mr Mack. Very friendly family that offered us the best deal in town. We had no reservation so we could choose the (aircon) room that suited us best. Views at the beach, breakfast included and all the info we needed to do activities. Highly recommended if you want good value in Pro

Mr mac is one of the cheapest cabanas on the island and is very basic and dated but don't let that put you off as long as your not expecting luxury you'll love it. It's comfortable and in a great location and laudina the manager is a great host. She is full and information and very welcoming. She lives on site with her family so is always on hand and you get a really family vibe from the place. It's close to restaurants and the shop and you can swim there too. All in all for an expensive island its value for money. We spent five nights there and loved every minute. You can also hire a motorcycle off her for a good price. Hope you enjoy it as much as

Great value and perfect location

Providencia is expensive, and it's hard to find somewhere affordable to stay. After a posada had lost our booking and had no room left we had to walk around to find a room - not easy in January! Mr Mac ended up being a good option - we got a room with a balcony right by the sea. You get what you pay for here - it was $40 for the room - no aircon, a bit crusty and noisy at night with the wooden shutters banging in the wind. It's not the kind of room you want to hang out in much more than when you sleep, but considering the price and how close it is to sea, it's not bad. The best part was the hammocks on the balcony, where you can lie in the shade and look at that beautiful view.

Good spot for a good price

The posada is ok for the price that you pay. Rooms are in line with the price paid: very simple. The position is nice, with direct access to the sea. The biggest problem is with the services offered by the husband of the owner. We had a terrible experience in a snorkeling tour: he sold us a tour which was including cajo cangrejo access (main attraction of the island and the tour itself) and when we arrived there it was closed. When we tried to find a solution and reschedule the tour, he started screaming, yelling, and insulting us like never before. At the end of the tour, we were pretty scared and moreover we had to pay the whole amount of the tour. Very disappointed about how this hotel threat and welcome its clients! Not recommended..

Never felt so unwelcomed 

Ok accomodation. Not very clean. Beddings smelled. The pillows especially should be replaced!!. bathroom was not very clean and the handwash basin was leaky. Hosts were nice and friendly though. Overall not good value but Providencia is an expensive island for the service you get.

Ok accomodation, not very clean, location ok

I came here because it was recommended by an agency in San Andres, booked three nights as I wanted a sea-facing room. As my flight had got in early in the morning, I was touched that Laudina ( very sweet, I agree!) offered me breakfast and an early checkin.
However I found the room unappealing, unclean ( the old fridge had dirty stains, bed sheets not as clean as I would have liked), bathroom really tiny and minimalistic, and worst of all, mosquitoes that made my night a total disaster ( I killed 5!). In a place like this, mosquito nets should be mandatory for guests.
My next door neighbours had hung out all their swimming gear and wet towels right outside my window, so bang went my sea-view. Of course it wasn’t Laudina’s fault.. but why put clothes lines just outside windows overlooking a spectacular view ?

I moved out early next morning to a much nicer, quieter and cleaner place - and thoroughly enjoyed the rest of my 5 day stay. All in all, wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t stay here again.
