Home Inn Haikou Donghu Road

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and booked this hotel via elong website. The room price is RMB 135 per night. The hotel is easily accessible from the airport. I took public bus no. 41 from the airport and alighted at the Donghu bus stop. I cut through the Renmin Gongyuan (People's Park) and it took me only 5 mins to walk to the hotel from the Park. There is an administrative charge of RM2 per night levied by the Haikou authority in addition to the room charges paid. I wonder why only Haikou as I was not levied such charges in Sanya or in Wenchang or any other cities that I previously travelled in China. The hotel room is clean and spacious and I particularly like the additional water filtration system installed at the toilet. The filtration system at least assured me that the water is drinkable after boiling. I had stayed in a number of Home Inn hotels previously in other parts of China but this is the first time I saw such a water filtration system installed in the hotel. I really appreciate the effort put in by the hotel to ensure quality drinkable water, a customer focused measure to safeguard the general health of the guests. The customer service is superb. When I just checked in, I do not know how to operate the remote controls of the air-con and the wall mounted TV set. When I contacted the customer service counter, the maintenance staff immediately appeared at my door step in less than 5 minutes. The response was immediate and I greatly appreciate such an excellent service provided by the hotel. There was this electricity black-out on the second night. It was not the fault of the hotel as the whole street was in a state of darkness. We could not take the lift up to our hotel room. The staff was apologetic though not their fault and the customer service supervisor immediately hand out bottles of soft drinks to us while we waited at the lobby. It was a good gesture of reassurance in times of crisis by the hotel and the staff was caring and apologetic. The staff at the counter was extremely helpful. The one that I made enquiries said that she was not from this town and could not answer my queries on the public bus service but she made good effort to use her hand phone to search for my queries. I am grateful to such a helpful and courteous service provided. There is free wifi even at the 8th floor where I stayed. Generally, I like the cleanliness of Home Inn hotel rooms in China and may I also take this opportunity to thank the Haikou Donghu Road hotel for the responsive and courteous service rendered.
