City Line Hotel Beijing

This hotel is located near the East Railroad station. It has a reasonable good restaurant in the hotel, the staff speak English, by and large, and they are very helpful in arranging your trip in Beijing. There are a number of restaurant options nearby, and it's conveniently located as far as not being too far away from anything. Given that it's Beijing, the city is so huge that most everything will be a certain distance away from any hotel, but as taxis are relatively cheap (compared to NYC or London) that transportation isn't an issue. The rooms are clean and quiet. You should definitely book your room online, and pay for it in advance (print out the voucher), as this is by far the cheapest way to go. Even the staff will tell you this. I've stayed there for as little as $35 a night in the off season, which is a bargain in my opinion. It's near to the pearl market, the silk market, and the Tian Ya antiques market. You can get to the Sunday market easily enough, but don't buy anything there unless you are expecting it to be fake. There are no authentic antiques for sale in Beijing. Period! To believe otherwise is foolish beyond reason.
