Canadas Best Value Inn Valemount

This hotel is terrible and I regret staying there. The location is the only good thing about it. Getting there, the staff was unhelpful, and when checking out just stared at her phone. The elevator was dirty and creaky and the luggage cart barely worked. The hallway carpets were bumpy and loose and the hallway felt damp and smelled like chlorine, which was probably because it was open to the pool. There were some rooms with balconies looking over the pool, as well. Getting to our room all the rooms that were occupied were closed, but we could hear what people were saying, doing or watching inside, there was no noise blocking at all. The unoccupied rooms all had their doors propped open with no staff in sight. In our room there was no closet and a random switch for something on the wall. EVERY wall needed to be washed, and its not like it wasn't noticeable, I wet a washcloth and whatever it was came right off. Maybe the huge spill of food under the desk by the garbage can could be excused, but SOMEONE had to change the garbage to see it!! There was 1 light on 1 of the nightstands and no plug or anything on the other. The door to the parking lot was not secured, it didn't even close properly,anyone could come in and wander around. Want to put a camera in a room? With all the doors being open it would be super easy!! The outdoor light that stays on ALL. NIGHT. was bright enough to keep the room lit up the entire stay. Don't stay here, pay the extra to get a nice hotel or just keep driving.
