The Chisholms in Stratford

We recently were in Stratford for a couple of days and were fortunate to stay at the Chisholms.  The location was perfect, walking distance from shops, restaurants, and theaters.  The house is lovely and our room was comfortable and clean.  Most noteworthy are the breakfasts.  Heather is an amazing cook.
We have stayed at many B&Bs and this one had the best breakfast!

I could not ask for a better B & B experience. The house is perfectly located for all the theatres, shops and restaurants. Everything is in easy walking distance. The owner, Heather, has filled the B & B with interesting and beautiful furniture and objects; the beds are super comfortable with great sheets and the rooms are quite spacious. Heather is a fabulous hostess and an outstanding cook. Her breakfasts are simply delicious and extremely creative. Bob, Heather’s dog, is the perfect host — very friendly, gentle and well behaved. I will definitely be returning.

A desirable place to stay close to the centre. Extremely comfortable room. Very friendly hostess and superb breakfast, different every day. Better than a 5* hotel. Well worth the money. Would recommend to family and friends without hesitation.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful bed & breakfast. Walking distance to everything, lovely rooms with private washrooms, fabulous breakfasts, and a terrific host. Look forward to a return visit! 

We enjoyed an excellent 2-night stay recently. The wonderful gourmet breakfast ensures that the day gets off to a solid start. The rooms in this cozy Victorian home are spacious and tastefully appointed. Nothing is lacking. Location couldn’t be better. We can’t wait to return. 

A great location for walking everywhere - theatres, restaurants, shopping. Enjoyed the Washington Room with its very comfortable seating area. The breakfasts are delicious, fresh local ingredients and always something different. Bob the resident dog is charming. Thanks.

We came for the Stratford Festival for 2 nights, and it was perfect. Heather was the perfect host, delicious breakfasts (though a bit over the top), companionable guests, and within walking distance of the theatres. Heather was great fun to talk to.  Highly recommended.

Heather is a delightful host. This home is so welcoming and comfortable. Our room was spacious and immaculate. And the breakfasts were exquisite! Delicious coffee with fresh organic cream, produce from the farmers market, and perfectly prepared dishes.

A classic stay . This 1881 beauty did not disappoint . Gracefully decorated with art and antiques Heather has created a gem. Fresh baked scones ,homemade jam, local apple cider ,frittata with goat cheese and roasted peppers and scalloped potatoes served in a stunning dinning room with French pressed coffee.  It doesn’t get better than this  and walking distance to the theatres gardens and downtown. Spectacular! Thank you Heather for the guided walk after our lovely breakfast. We will return. Mona Brown

Fabulous breakfast, lovely decor and attention to detail made our visit a fantastic experience. Fabulous B&B

A perfect B & B stay

Delicious sumptuous breakfast and outstanding hospitality made our visit to this B&B a fantastic experience!

The Chisholmes in Stratford is a beautiful victorian house well located midway between the Festival Theatre and the downtown theatres, easy walking distance from all.
Our room (Parisienne) was exceptionally comfortable, queen bed, large shower.
Large front porch has plenty of seating for late evening relaxing.
Heather's breakfast is every bit as good as previous reviews have stated. 
We look forward to returning for a longer visit next year.

Stratford Weekend

Just ended a 2-week stay at Chisholms. Could not have been better. Heather is a lovely, gracious hostess and a fabulous cook. She is also enormously accommodating to special requests and needs. Breakfasts are wonderful. Rooms are excellent and the location is perfect. i can’t imagine staying anywhere else.

Wonderful B & B

We have just spent 5 amazing  days at The Chisholms in Stratford. Our hostess was warm, welcoming and a gourmet cook. We had gourmet breakfasts every morning with the other guests at the B&B and had lively conversations about not only the wonderful plays we had seen, but all other topics under the sun. We have been coming to the Stratford  Festival for 10 years. We have stayed at many other hotels and B&B's. The Chisholms is the best accommodations we have found.  Gail McGraw

The Best B&B in Stratford, Canada

We had a wonderful stay at The Chisholms in Stratford, and we highly recommend it to anyone who values beautiful architecture, antique interiors and fabulous and friendly service. Our room was very comfortable with all the amenities you'd expect from a first class establishment. The breakfast was delicious, and served on beautiful antique china in the dining room, which was crowned by a beautiful chandelier, one of many in the house. The Chisholms is a five minute walk to the Festival Theatre and the river and parks, and a seven minute walk into the town.
Relax with a drink on the gracious wrap-around porch and watch the world go by. Thank you to Heather for such a memorable stay in Stratford.
