Qualicum Beach House

We stayed in the Dreamcatcher Suite which was amazing.  There are 3 suites in this house on the beach.  The Dreamcatcher Suite is a 1 bedroom with lots of space and 25 foot ceiling.  There are 4 sets of French Doors that open out onto a deck the full length of the room and the beach is right there.  The location was great and the suite was quiet despite being on the waterfront main road.

Our family spent very good weekend here. The greatest thing about this place is the fact is this is right on the beach. 
We stayed in the ground level two bedroom "Ocean spray"suite. It was clean, had almost everything we needed for our stay (sleeping, cooking, laundry, wifi, toys,  small appliances, parking ). The house is clean, the road isn't too noisy. 

Just spent 10 days at Qualicum Beach House — not the typical time of year to stay at a beach house, but it rivalled Tofino for dramatic storm watching without having to cross the Island. We stayed in the Dreamcatcher Suite, which was comfy cozy, with all the conveniences you’d need — full-size fridge and stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, as well as dish settings, utensils and cookware (even access to a full-sized washer and dryer). There’s even a little electric fireplace to add to the ambience. There’s also a flat-screen TV, wi-fi, books and games, but who needs those with the drama going on outside. 

There’s a big deck with barbecue, table and chairs, which would be a great spot to hang in the summer. Beyond that there’s a small yard, tall grass, then a rock and shell-strewn beach — and the Pacific Ocean! We watched (and heard) seals and sea lions frolicking in the waves, eagles and seagulls soaring on the wind, while oyster catchers and sand pipers picked around the tidal pools looking for lunch. Most of the days were sunny (but cold!), so we spent hours walking the beach, collecting shells and interesting rocks. Rarely saw another soul.

The place is semi-detached, there are two other suites besides this one, which would be great if you had family and friends for a big vacation/reunion. We had the whole place to ourselves, and loved the solitude. The owner, Ann, was instantly available if we had any questions, suggestions for things to do nearby and places to eat. Thanks so much for the stay. Hope to be back again!

Lovely place, very clean and comfortable.  Fabulous ocean views   We saw seals, dolphins, sea lions and many varieties of sea and shore birds. 

The place has free Wi-Fi, full kitchen and laundry facilities.  

Location is within walking distance to restaurants, beach walks, forest trails, etc.

Storm watching in Qualicum

Christmas 2015

There are only 3 units in the building and we had the smaller unit below the larger one.  Sound proofing has not been a priority for the owners. Kids running and dogs scratching makes you feel like you are living inside a drum. The TV didn't work, they decided to do extensive and noisy renovations while we are here and the furniture is shabby.
On the positive side, it is oceanside but, if you look harder, you can find better value.
