Bluebird Motel

spotlessly clean, friendly staff, v comfortable bed.  Adorable vintage furniture rooms with original Stampede posters.   we have the 2 bedroom suite which has 1950s kitchen including 1950s table and chairs.  out of our kitchen window is a horse pasture and a heritage  log barn probably over 100 years old.  The Bluebird is one of a kind, please never become a Best Western!  will definitely return.

On my way to Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump, I was looking for a motel that was safe, comfortable and not too tucked away.  The Bluebird Motel checked all the boxes and then some. Thanks to Kathy who checked me in and gave me a bit of the history of this lovely little spot right off Hwy 2! She was most friendly and kind. The room was clean, with a small fridge and microwave, shampoo and conditioner and a large TV.  But, the little details are what make this motel memorable. Quaint pics and memorabilia on the walls, quilt on the bed and a grandma commode with sink.  I especially loved the Evening in Paris perfume bottle on display. That was a favourite scent for my mother. All in all, I absolutely can recommend this motel, but phone in advance. They are busy and I can see why.

probably drove by this place dozens of time's, only stopping for gas, took time out on our August long weekend, super ni e and quiet  great desk lady too. drove to Granum to take photo's, and on Sunday to the old WW II hanger's, and Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump which unfourtnly was closed, but enjoyed the homey, comfort of my room, and was happy with the kitchenette.

Hard to find anything bad to say about this place.  It offers a glimpse back to an earlier era of automobile-based accommodations and does it very well.  This place embraces its history and allows you to feel a connection to the past.

The room was clean, well appointed, and offered everything we needed for our two night stay.  Having driven by for so many years it was great to finally have a reason to stop and stay here.  We were not disappointed and are already thinking of new reasons to come back.

I visit the Bluebird at least once a year when I come to town for a conference. I also spent 2-3 weeks there in 2017 for a work trip. It's about time I wrote a review. The Bluebird rooms are full of character, with interesting historic themes and decorations. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. Beds are high-quality. I've always slept well. The surrounding property is also tidy and well-kept. The owner is friendly and pleasant to chat with. I stay in a lot of motels for work, and the Bluebird easily tops the list!

This place is so special. The owner is so friendly and helpful, and the cabins are so cozy and unique. So full of history!! This is definitely the place to stay in Claresholm, and I can't wait to stay here again. My only regret is that I didn't discover it sooner! I've stayed elsewhere in Claresholm (I think it was called the Wilshire) and it was awful. But the bluebird is amazing!

Super great stay.  Very comfortable rooms, decorated in historic theme.  Owner - Host is great & superhelpful!  Highly recommend.  Wish I had the opportunity to stay a few more days!  Very reasonably priced.

We like finding small motels in rural areas and for the most part it has been a good experience.  In this case it was an amazing experience!!  The room we had was a theme room filled with antique furniture and decorations.  The room was huge with a kitchenette that had a microwave, coffee pot, toaster oven, and dishes if we had wanted to make our own meals.  We walked a couple blocks down the street to eat on the recommendation of the front desk clerk.  The room was very clean and everything worked perfectly.  Although the motel is right beside a fairly busy highway, we did not hear anything.  There were windows on the other side of the room that we left open and it was very quite.  Clean comfy beds and a large bathroom that was spotless.......we hope to be back someday!!!

I had the pleasure of staying at the Bluebird Motel a couple weeks ago. The service is fabulous in the office, the housekeeping is exceptional , and each room is decorated differently with all sorts of memorabilia, antique furniture, art, photos, etc.  My room was spotless, and I had great bedding on a super- comfortable bed. Everything in the kitchen worked really well, as did the shower. I can’t say enough about how great the lady in the motel office is.  One of the highlights of my trip was meeting Harold, a gentleman who is the son of the woman who started the motel about seven decades ago. I told him that one of the reasons that I had wanted to stay there was that my mom lived on the base in Claresholm  in the 40s when they were shutting down after the war, and always spoke so highly of that beautiful town.. It turned out that as a child he used to ride with his dad who had a dairy on the land where the motel is (started by his mom) delivering milk to the base.  He told me so many incredible things about the history of Claresholm and of the motel. If you have a chance to meet Harold, please do! He and his wife still live on the property and have a beautiful flower and tree-filled yard with dozens of gorgeous bird feeders. He cut me some of his beautiful yellow roses to take home with me after I told him that it was an identical rosebush to the one that my grandfather had many years ago and that it had been moved to our family farm while I was still there.  These are wonderful people and they have a fabulous motel. Please stay there.

The outside of the motel needed some work. The rooms were clean but decor is dated.  The staff was friendly and helpful. We rented 2 rooms and we had to change one of the rooms because there was a bunch of stuff blocking the door.
