Although Kitchen is a bit lacking. Needs paper towel or clean cloths . Can’t complain for the price and the staff is so lovely. All in all a wonderful experience!! Thank you staff!!

Great place to stay. Located at the heart of Canmore. Will surely come back again next time!

This is my second time staying at this property! This time I got a private bedroom and it was great. I stayed here again because the location is phenomenal! Everything is right outside your door, including the bus station right across the street that takes you everywhere you need to go. Will stay here again in the future.

Great location and service. Amenities were convenient and the place was clean and user friendly. Check-in was automated and smooth.  I would definitely stay again!

Everything was perfect.  The property is clean as are all amenities!  People were helpful and kind and the restaurant downstairs was also great!  Looking forward to my next stay!

The hostel is very clean. Other residents in my room are very respectful. The only thing I didn’t like about the hostel was the dorm door lock because it was too loud. Every time someone went to the washroom, the lock go “beep beep beep beep”. Hopefully they can reduce the noise of that lock in the future. But overall, it was a good experience. Good price for a night.

For a place that labels itself "party hostel", I slept pretty well.  Room was too warm when I got there (early Sept) but as it cooled down at night and with the fan provided, I was able to get it cool enough to sleep. Sheets and towels were clean, other guests respectful and quiet, private room at a reasonable price (for the area) and right in the heart of town with multiple dining options.  Was sent a code ahead of time to get in.  Host was very helpful.   It worked fine for me and I can't complain and glad to save $200 over a night at a hotel.

You can't ask for a better location than The Canmore Hotel Hostel (or Canmore Party Hostel depending on which site you're booking it through).  It's a decent hostel, seems to have a lot of permanent residents though, but that came in handy when the room code didn't work as one of them was able to summon a staff member by text who arrived less than a minute later informed me my room had been changed and there were new codes.  So after you book this place you are sent a front door code and room and bed (with door code).  There are no staff in the hostel.  I guess they turn up to clean it after checkout time.  Bathroom was pretty messy as was the kitchen. There's plenty of options to eat close by (expensive) and cheaper ones once you walk a few blocks away. Lots of supermarkets to choose from, I got a roast chicken in one. The street out of town where Flix Bus drops you off is lined with American/Canadian fast food franchises (Flix drops you off at Tim Hortons/Wendys) which is about a twenty minute walk away from the hostel. Easy walk though, no hills.  I thought the bar downstairs would be annoying noise wise but it was actually quite pleasant to hear the karaoke, I sat in the entrance room at the bottom of the stairs on the computer and enjoyed it.  The only noise that is an issue is the door code pad, every time someone enters the correct number it does a celebratory tune, which is very annoying in the early morning with people getting up to use the bathroom or whatever.

Everything was at the level I expect for hostels. Unfortunately that includes the bed. It was very uncomfortable. Considering it is such an old building I was actually impressed with its condition. The staff member who was working when I checked in carried my large suitcase up to my room for me as well. I am not used to staff who actually care at hostels, so big thumbs up there.

It is a Hostel in every way

Ditto most of other reviews. You get what you paid for kind of hostel but it’s not bad at all. If you are travel solo or coming in with friends for a short trip. It’s easy, convenient, and the town is super cute. The music from the bar downstairs was loud but it stops around 10pm. We were exhausted after the hike so we werent able to hear the music at all when we fell asleep. The provided blanket and bed sheets. The door is key pad operated so you dont have to bother anyone or asking for extra keys. Parking is limited but you can easily find public parking across the street. Shared bathroom is basic but clean, i didn’t have to fight anyone for a stall. Overall, worth it.

For the price everything is good, only more cleaning is missing in the area of the rooms for example the bed linen, but our stay was incredible

Only thing I don't like is bad smell inside the room. No ventilation. 5 person inside,  short of oxygen. It  caused my noses blocked.

It was fine except when we arrived we did not get what we had booked.

Great place if you don’t mind basic accommodations and some noise. The hostel was very clean and staff we met very friendly. We enjoyed our stay in a private room with a queen bed. I do wish the room had more hooks or a self to put a bag and some better pillows. We will be back!
