I had called ahead in the morning from the airport to advise the staff of O Hotel Suites in Calgary of a late check-in. She kindly forwarded the access codes to the building and room numbers to me via e-mail. Imagine my surprise when I arrived at 1015pm in the evening and found an elderly couple in my room ! They were very concerned also because obviously the staff are giving out the access codes to various patrons which does not build confidence with regards to personal security and safety. Imagine I had arrived later and had surprised them asleep in their beds!

We then called the reservations hotline which was obviously not attended as it was out of hours as it was after 9 pm. We left various messages (I think 3 or 4) which the answering machine assured us would lead to someone calling us back within 15 minutes if this were an emergency. Other than the building burning down, I cannot imagine a more urgent situation than having a guest arrive after a 9 hour flight not being able to access the room they had fully paid for in advance and instead barging in on strangers. In any case, the establishment never rang us back. After I had waited for over an hour I booked accommodation elsewhere which wasn't an easy feat that late at night with a large conference going on in Calgary.

It then took more than two months for my payment to be re-credited to my card. Stay away from Ostays

Horrendous

My friend and I stayed at OSTAYS for 1 night. It was a decent aparatel, spacious and fairly nice. Our stay was uneventful, a after 2 weeks I have not received my security back, I contacted them, still didnt get my security deposit back. After a month, nada, I had to call my credit card, file a dispute and still waiting to get my $475 back till now.

Also, READ ABOVE REVIEWS - I did not pay attention to them but they are accurate that the place and booking is MISLEADING. You do have to go to a separate location to check in.

BEWARE - OSTAYS DOES NOT RETURN YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT

We had our condo with Ostays (aka OHotel Suites) since we purchased our condo in 2009. We had decided to take it back last summer and manage it ourselves because of the severe cash shortfall every month, even during Stampede. The average per month was $1000-$1100. 
When we got it back from them this last summer there was neglect to the property (i.e. half the light bulbs were burned out, walls were patched many times, sometimes with different colored paint, and looked terrible; both toilets required fixing; one blind was broken; dirty windows, a missing kitchen chair, and some abuse caused by guests that was never repaired. (i.e. cigarette burns in the carpet, dents on the stainless steel fridge). It was no wonder the income was lower than previous years!
Another frustration for us as owners was not getting our messages returned (phone or email) by the manager (a revolving door of many different managers over the past couple years at least) or owners (after many attempts at communication with promises being made with timelines). We are still awaiting their promise to compensate us financially for a portion of the repairs. (going on 2 months now)

Ostays -- Neglecting Properties and Their Owners

We booked and paid for in full (4 months in advance),a 4 day stay at Ostays Condos 'Mark on 10th' in Calgary. When we arrived to check in we were allocated a far inferior apartment in a  completely different side of the city. Dark and dingy and without the correct number of beds. Stained carpets. It was like booking in at a five star hotel and being shown to a 3 star option instead and told that was all they had available. We were exhausted- off a 10 hour flight from the UK- it was 3am to us and this was our welcome to Canada.When they couldn't provide an alternative, we received a full refund thankfully but had to find a hotel at very short notice dragging our two kids around the streets with our suitcases in hand!

Beware- Avoid Ostays Condos - Misleading bookings!

Service was terrible, Check in and check out process near impossible because they make you go to a different location to pick up the key, and room was dirty. You cannot get a hold of anyone through phone for help, pretty sure the company is closing down and will take your money if you are booking in advance!
