Staff were friendly the guy from Nepal was accomodating and attentive. The room was tidy and looks clean. Washroom was clean.

I liked it had a kitchenette and 2 beds where 1 was separated as its own room. Very convenient,  could park right in front of door. We had a baby with us so unloading and reloading was very helpful.  Didnot have continental breakfast but because it had kitchenette we could make our own from the ite.s we briught with us.

The new orders have done some renos. Room had a new sink and vanity. A new refrigerator and the air conditioning was New too. They also installed those lights that allow you to plug in your USB and Usbc chargers so that was also super helpful. It looks like they also painted pretty recently. So things are moving the right direction that's for sure.

The room i stayed in had an entirely new sink/vanity as well as a new fridge and air conditioner. They also dotched those awful brass swing out lamps by the beds with modern ones... Complete with electical plug in, usb plug and even a c charger. Its not the ritz, but they are making strides ro update and modernize it. Something else has been done every time I stay it seems like.

We just need a safe clean place for  a good price and it was exactly what we needed.  We pulled in slept and left in the morning. Would stay again for the type of stay we needed .

Staff are super great and very friendly.  It’s a motel but the service is 5 star.  I booked smoking by accident but they transfer me to non smoking.  And gave me free Tim Hortons gift card

New Owner Doing Reno

from the outside the telstar has all the hallmarks of a motor inn. But since management has changed there is now and obvious effort to make sure that the hotel itself is maintained on the inside and if not luxurious definitely cozy and clean. Most importantly, the man I'm assuming is the general manager is super friendly, relaxed, and concerned with whether or not you're having a decent stay. I've never had a problem checking in late or checking out late for that matter. And I've never had a problem with any kind of deposit or damage issues either so oh no I would say to give it a try. You'll get the same stay that you would have had at a hotel 30% more expensive. So save the money and stay at the Telstar instead

not a no tell motel anymore

I left it to the last minute to book a hotel and there were very few rooms left in town. I usually stay elsewhere and was more than a little hesitant as this place used to be a total dive.To my great relief it has been cleaned up. The staff were friendly and quite accommodating. They even made sure there were bottles of cold water in the fridge; most appreciated during a heat wave.Though not luxurious, its definitely clean and do-able. Good work guys.

New Management?

I saw the price online for $49 but when I asked the guy told me $52 plus tax. And when we checked I could get one room for $40 on booking but he made me a deal with the king size bed so I took it. There is laundry service in the motel. The room is spacious and clean. WiFi is strong. There is hot water and air conditioner. The motel is right in the downtown core. It’s walking distance to No Frills and there are restaurants in the vicinity. Overall, I had a comfortable stay for one night. Just wish the owner was more honest. 

Very good location 

I spent two weeks at this motel, and overall, I really liked it. They didn't clean the room unless I asked them to, which is important when you're staying for a long time, and the staff were always helpful. They always fixed things right away. The room was large and bed was comfortable. Major issue was with the WiFi, it was honestly really bad. Needed to go on the to balcony most nights to get a good connection.

Good value for money

Everything was good.  Came in late and reception was locked but rang the bell and was let in.

Needed a room for the night on way home. Nothing fancy, clean, affordable. Exactly what I wanted. Would visit again.
