Spent 3 nights here over New Years with my wife and our 2 adult sons. It was brilliant. Haven't experienced that degree of relaxation in a long time. A dream-like setting in the mountains, surrounded by lush gardens. Fairly new, well maintained, decent architecture, properly furnished. Wonderful wrap-around terrace at the main house which is used for dining. We had the place to ourselves and spent most of our time reading and playing games (boule, scrabble). Once we adjusted to no internet, sporadic mobile phone connections and only 2 hours of electricity each day, it was deeply relaxing. Solar-powered USB outlets at the location allowed us to keep our e-readers charged. On New Years day our local guide, David, led us on a exhilarating hike to Lake Oku and back - 24k, the first 3 hours involving a 1,000 meter ascent. Great way to start the year! Regarding food: we took their meal plan, which was okay - keep in mind that it's a fairly remote location - no supermarket around the corner. Navigation tip: don't confuse Zwinkels Trekkers Camp with Zwinkels Mountain Lodge.
