We wanted to get away from it all and we certainly did so by choosing Rancho Fundo. It is located in Vila Abrantes just between Salvador and Praia do Forte. The pousada itself is at the end of a dirt road 2.5km from the nearest beach. The place is lovely on a big ground, with nice garden, pool etc. The rooms are spacious and of european standard. The downside here is the remote location. You can reach all the beaches and nearby restaurants by bus, but we feel that having a car would be best thing to do in this case. Also the barking dogs can be pretty annoying at night, although this was not always the case.
