Le Castel Hotel

My mother and I visited this charming Ville in May 2014 to re-trace the place where her grandparents got married, lived, and started their family all before WWI. Because of the war, they (like so many of their fellow Europeans) emigrated to the US where their descendants number 110+ Imagine our joy when we arrived in our room at the spectacular Le Castel Hotel, and looked out the window to see the wonderfully ancient Church of Saint Feuillen! We got out our picture of Grandma and Grandpa Poussier’s wedding party and... there it was, the same doors, the same threshold... IT WAS THE SAME CHURCH! More than 100 years later we were there, where my mother’s grandparents story began. Thanks to our fabulous hotelier, Jean Louis, we were able to connect with the town historian, Jean Henri, who took us to the townhouse where eGeorges and Louise Poussier set up home (it’s now a bank ;) He connected us with the office of tourism where the lovely Nathalie was able to give us a tour of our precious Church and the Galerie-Musée le Petit Chapitre. With all the excursions we took around the Ville, it was always nice to come back to our magnificent hotel where Jean Louis would create for us the most incredible, delectable feasts that seemed suited to our personal tastes. The room was luxurious with its soaking king tub and soft, king size bed. Five Stars are not enough!!!!!! More of my family is returning this spring... This is our new Poussier Family destination!
