Hotel Les Grisons

We stayed at Les Grissons maybe a dozen times while we lived in The Hague in The Netherlands. It was only about 3 hours away by car. We loved it so much, we have been back, I believe 3 times, since moving back to Texas! The location is remote from any towns, Dinant being the closest, but unbelievably peaceful and serene. The rooms are nice, not fancy or luxurious, but roomy and very well appointed by European standards. The restaurant, however, is one of the best in Belgium in my opinion. The chef worked in a major hotel in Brussels, but when his children came along, he and his lovely wife wanted to raise them in a quieter, safer, more serene place. They moved here and opened this small boutique hotel and restaurant. She runs the hotel and acts as There is not an extensive menu, but everything is fresh and often unusual; wild boar, venison from roe deer he killed himself, excellent seafood also. Their fixe prix, multi-course dinners are to die for. My mouth waters and I long to return as I write this.
