B&B A L'Aise

This is our third time holidaying in the beautiful Durbuy area of Wallonia. Previously we had stayed in b&bs that were quite basic but Art B&B A L’aise is quite different and offers a relaxing and functional stay with well equipped rooms (coffee machines, kettles, Apple TV, free Wi-fi, dressing gowns, free parking, etc). The rooms are comfortable and clean. There are two entrances to the room, one from the outside and one from the communal hallway. In our room, If you want fresh air then you have to keep the front door open. We were quite warm during our stay at night as we preferred to keep the door shut as it just felt strange to sleep with the door open (though I’m sure the area is pretty safe; I had visions of a wild boar making his presence known!) Breakfast was served at a time suitable for us; outside if it was nice weather (which it was, mostly!). Yogurt, fruit, pastries, fresh breads, cheeses, meats, etc. We were also made omelette and pancakes. We felt very welcome and our hostess; Sophie was friendly but not imposing. It is a good base for exploring the area. We cycled along the cycle path to Durbuy (along the river Ourthe) which is quite a gentle 40 minute or so, very picturesque. We visited the lovely city of Namur (1 hour drive) which has lots of shops. We also visited Luxemburg city for the day (about 1.5 hour).
