Hotel Himmelreich

I booked this hotel without researching many hotels in Mariazell on Booking.com, this came up first in the list and was the cheaper option out of the list with a decent 8 star on Booking.com. Usually I read reviews first on Tripadvisor before booking any hotel etc, but I was very short on time. I was taken aback after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor (my non refundable booking already made); I was having second thoughts about booking elsewhere forfeiting my money, but I decided to go ahead with this booking. Not only was I pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness and comfortable room that we got but I was shocked that so many travelers had written negative reviews. The owner and staff managed things well. Parking and tables in restaurant for breakfast were already allocated to the guests, meaning this was well managed and organized. Also I was aware during the booking that parking fee is extra (5Eur per night) and wifi is available only in reception and breakfast area, but that was fine with us. It is just that the owner doesn't smile which may seem rude to some but that didn't matter us. Breakfast was wholesome with many options (but doesn't have any warm options) but was good overall. Room was clean and comfortable with soft mattresses.
