Hotel zur Pfeffermühle

What a lovely hotel & a great base for skiing at St Anton and the Arlberg alps. We selected a family room with a separate attached room for the teens with a bunk bed (room 208). Very comfortable with a bit of space to spread out and a private balcony overlooking a snowy mountain. We also selected the half board which included a wonderful breakfast buffet with lots of choice and Austrian touches. They also make eggs and waffles etc etc to order. For dinner, there was a wonderful 4 course meal each night with different options each night and a delicious and healthy salad buffet. We certainly did not go hungry! The chocolate fountain offered one night will be forever remembered by the teens. I only wish they would give half board customers free tap water … I know that’s not the done thing in Austria but it could be easily offered. The hotel provides a free shuttle to the Nasserein lift in the AMS and PMs and a storage locker at the gondola base so you can rent and store skis, snowboards, boots etc in the lockers rather than cart then back to the hotel each night. The shuttle will also pick you up and drop you at the St Anton train station free of charge or run you into St Anton at other times on request. There is also a free ski bus that drops you very close to the hotel. The skiing was amazing. This is certainly not a ski-in-ski-out hotel and located in St Jacob, it is removed from the apres party scene of St Anton … but in all other respects, it is just lovely. We particularly liked all the waiters … and had very nice chats with a man and a woman I think from Croatia. All in all, highly recommended. Thank you team Pfeffermuhle !
