Kar Design Appartements

I stayed here alone for a week over new year and loved it. The views are spectacular and it is basically ski-in, ski-out (less than 5 mins walk to the pistes) and you are up above Oberlech so can hit the slopes before the lifts are even open. The apartment itself is very comfortable and has everything you need to be fully self catering. I liked the opportunity to chose to have bread delivered daily - from a quite extensive (and delicious) selection. I was glad of this, and of having arrived with enough food and drink for the week, as I didn't really want to have to drive back down the hill to Lech until I absolutely had to. The building is well set up with a car park and a good sized ski and boot room. There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer in the boot room. It would be nice if there was a sauna as well! The lady who runs it (Frau Meilhammer) and the other staff I met were very friendly and helpful. The only downside of the location is that you are a bit isolated - there is a hotel very close by (Hotel Mohnenfluh) which has a great sun terrace and pretty good food but it was difficult to get in there for dinner, they were fully booked the week I was there so I guess their dining room was full with hotel guests. Other than that its a 10 minute steep walk down a snowy path to the main part of Oberlech if you want to eat out rather than eating in your apartment.
