Hotel Garni Fels

This is our second visit to this small and friendly run guesthouse after we had been here in January for a weeks top class skiing. We decided to spend our summer vacation here also as we were told that the trekking was also exceptional. We were not disappointed, the central location of the guesthouse was ideal for reaching the nearest cable car going up the Kanzelwand mountain which is about 100 mtrs from the door and in the winter we were able to ski right past the guesthouse breakfast room. There are plenty of restaurants in the village to choose from and all within a short walk of the property. It is also possible to purchase the daily cable car ticket when you make your booking which offers a good saving over the tickets when purchased direct. This ticket gives you access to the various mountain routes and lifts for the area that covers Kleinwalsertal and Oberstdorf. The rooms are a little on the small side but well appointed with balcony we took a Mountain View room on both visits. Breakfast is a buffet style which was excellent and with plenty of choice. The hotel owner was very knowledgeable about the area and always ready to give helpful tips regarding restaurants, treks, places of interest etc. We would recommend this place without hesitation especially as it gives exceptionally good value for money
