Mouldy bathroom and shower. Dirt and dust piled up on the window ledges & wall skirting. Stain on the bed cover. 

We packed up & left, I would not even be willing to lay down on the bed. Went and checked into another place at short notice as this place was filthy. 

No staff were even there, they left a key out for us to find our own room. Attempted to call and speak to the staff numerous times but didn’t get an answer. 

The owner has admitted that there is mould and it should be removed however is unwilling to do the right thing and provide a refund.



Dirty, Filthy, Mouldy - Stay Away

The view! Oh my! The hospitality - second to none. And to cap it off a beautiful simple breakfast in a quaint setting. The rooms are very nice with everything in its place. To get free and safe parking was a bonus as well. Best of luck for your future as owners and anyone looking for a nice place to stay - come to Hillview House B&B

One night stay

Quaint place with so much character. On a hilly road, so be prepared for uphill walking. The place is only pa few blocks away from the shops.
A bit noisy as you can hear the other guests watching TV or just moving about. It is an older building.
Lovely management.
Breakfast reasonable with cereal, bread, fruit, yogurt, tea and coffee. No hot brekky.
Off the street parking available. 
Overall, liked the place and wouldn't mind staying here again.

Tasmanian Holiday 

Don't go for upstairs rooms, stairs are very difficult.
No greeting, girl opened front door, no intro. had no idea she was owner.
No one there to ask had we enjoyed our stay, in fact saw nobody as we left.
Have extension leads running all over the room. 
These people have a lot to learn about how to run a B&B

A LOT TO LEARN

Everything looks a bit shabby inside the building, no maintenance, many items around just showing the label “I am broken”. The toilet bowl wasn’t fixed at all and easy to move or tilt over. However the worst was the strong, bad, disgusting Indian kitchen smell anywhere inside the building. Would not stay again

Not really equal to the average reviews

We stayed here for one night after a late flight into Launceston, we arrived after check had finished but they accommodated us with a friendly smile, we had a nice room upstairs with a double and single bed and a bathroom which was down a couple steps. Small bar fridge kettle and coffee/tea and a tv. we had a nice view into the city. Beds were a little hard but did the job for one night. The bathroom although clean and did the trick could do with a make over, some mold present. Good breakfast in the morning from 7.30-8.30 with a selection of cereals, some toast fruit and yogurt, tea and coffee and juice, basic but did the trick for a good breakfast! 

We recently stayed for 1 night . First impression was of a lovely period building . 
Upon entering the front door we were greeted with an overpowering smell of cooking .
The room was tiny but ok on first impression.
On further inspection , the duvet cover looked like it needed a wash and was well worn ,the teabags on the complimentary tray were not individually wrapped, but from a bulk pack .
The shower head was not great either and was more like a power washer with a jet that left red marks on my body . The cistern also did not refill properly and I had to lift the lid and raise the ballcock to stop it . 
The continental breakfast was simple but adequate. Negatives are that there is no availability of gluten free items such as as bread or cereals , which is not acceptable in today’s era of increased dietary requirements. The toaster was also a little erratic and had a tendency to either burn or undercook the bread .
  These are small fixes that could be done to enhance the overall experience for the guests .
We wish the new owners well and hope that they take on board our comments .

Disappointed 

A beautiful old house turned into a comfortable B&B. Cozy atmosphere, superb views, comfortable, clean and equipped bedroom. Standard breakfast. Overall an excellent quality/price ratio. Recommend!
