We can only join the overwhelming assessment of the other travelers. In July we were guests at the Kooka with our children for a week and would have liked to have stayed much longer. Bruno and Marlies are wonderful hosts, friendly and helpful, the rooms are large and picobello clean and the breakfast very delicious. 100% recommendation from us!

Perfect place to stay in Cairns

We had four nights in the Kooka and enjoyed it very much. Our rooms were spacious and very clean. The location is beautiful in the green, the view from our bathroom directly into the garden was unique. The breakfast on the balcony with views, often accompanied by a cookaburra, was lavish and with delicious fresh fruit. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They booked for us and gave us many tips for the next trip. Definitely a recommendation for staying in Cairns!

Great start to our trip to the East Coast

Warm, friendly, comfortable stay, clean and spacious room, lovely fresh fruit for breakfast and freshly ground coffee.., hosts very helpful and knowledgable about the area.  Was a nice touch meeting the Kookaburra in the mornings.  Highly recommended!

Great start to our holiday in Cairns,

I enjoyed my stay at the Kookas which is run by friendly people who create a personal atmosphere. The room was clean and functional. Breakfast is served on the terrace with a view onto the green landscape and offers quite a range of different components especially a variety of nice fruits.
By car the city center is easily reachable.

Friendly, personal, very nice breakfast

We stayed at Kookas for two nights. We got a warm welcome at arrival with a drink and bringing our bagage to the house on the "hill". The room was large with a good bathroom, airco, coffee and tea facilities. There is a beautiful garden and a pool. There are enough restaurants in the neighbourhood and the centre of Cairns is only 15 minutes by bus. The breakfast was served at the balcony and while we were eating a kookaburra landed next to us. The breakfast was very good with a great chouce of fruit. A perfect stay for a visit to Cairns and only 3 km from the airport.

Nice stay at Kookas B&B Cairns

We booked 7 nights with Marlies and Bruno at Kooka's and enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra 2 days. The location on the edge of Cairns was ideal, with a great view from it's slightly raised location. Our hosts were so helpful and attentive. Breakfast consisted of a variety of tropical fruits,cereals,toast etc. Marlies helped us choose a range of outings. There is a small pool next to the house. A bonus was that a family of Kookaburras came to visit us at breakfast time. Really can't fault this modestly priced holiday location.

Perfect B and B

We had a good few days staying here whilst visiting Cairns, handy for the airport, Botanical Gardens and easy access to the city. Well equipped room, nice and quiet for good sleeping and great breakfasts with a fantastic view. Wallaby on the front lawn when we came back from a local restaurant and a good line in pet frogs!

Quiet & friendly

The Kooka Bed & Breakfast was my first stay in Australia after I arrived. It is only a few minutes away by car from the airport, but far enough away to enjoy the peace already. I really enjoyed my stay. The rooms are completely adequate and if you're lucky, a Wallaby looks past the bathroom window in the morning. The breakfast was one of the best on my six-week trip. The hosts have prepared many tips to make the stay as beautiful as possible. So I can recommend the accommodation without any problems. It's like a vacation with friends and you like to return to friends.

Lovely B&B

This was our fourth visit to the Kooks, and that says it all, otherwise we wouldn't be repeaters, starting with the great view from our room, the super delicious breakfast, the refreshing cooling in the pool, and last but not least the warm hospitality of Marlies and Bruno...the vacation can't begin any better. Marlies and Bruno, we thank you for three wonderful days at the Kooks and wish you all the best for the future.

Perfect start to the holiday😊👌🤗

We were able to spend three nights here. Everything was excellent - very quiet, beautiful slopes; charming, very clean rooms; breakfast; the great hosts. Great price/performance ratio. Unfortunately, this was only once, although we had booked significantly more expensive hotels. It probably depends on Switzerland. The nationality of the owners. Should Australians really like to adapt as best practice!
