Ostello & Camping Riposo

We were on a bicycle tour around Switzerland and had planned to arrive in Locarno on Sunday night. We were ahead of time and had to find a hotel for Saturday night, so we looked around and found this lovely camping site close to Locarno and Ascona. It's located a little outside of Losone and is a peaceful and charming little oasis with options to suit everybody's taste. There's the possibility to stay in one of the tipi tents on the front lawn, set up your own tent on the spacious back lawn, or you can spend the night in one of the guest rooms in the main building or the dormitory with 14 beds in it. We opted for the latter, which we almost had to ourselves, apart from one other guest staying the night there as well. The hosts, a young family, were helpful and made us feel very welcome. The entire site is very neat and well-kept and the dormitory was clean and tidy. Note, that we only stayed the one night in the dormitory, which had a separate bathroom in the house, so we cannot vouch for the camping infrastructure. Also, we consumed our own dinner and breakfast and thus do not know more about meals on site. The camping is in a rather remote area, so you would have to be there by car, motorcycle or bicycle to get anywhere easily. It took us app. 7mins by bicycle to get to the next store (Ascona Coop Pronto) and appr. 15mins to Locarno. The lake in Ascona could be reached in app. 10mins. We can absolutely recommend this campsite and will be happy to return there ourselves on our next stay in Ticino. In fact: Had we been able to undo our reservation for the hotel in Locarno on such short notice, we would happily have prolonged our stay at the Ostello & Camping Riposo.
