This is our second trip to Unawatuna and Pink elephant has become one of our regular haunts. It is consistently great and definitely  one of our favourite places to relax. If you're looking for great cocktails, great food and great people then this is the place to be.  
We also met the owners this trip and they were great people, they really added a personal touch to the place, felt like meeting old friends

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay at Pink Elephant. Originally we were staying at a guesthouse down the road but went for dinner at pink elephant and loved the atmosphere so decided to stay here the evening after instead. The double room was spacious, clean and had a private balcony. Had the best Mojito in Sri Lanka in the restaurant. The staff were so friendly especially Hector and they took us to a Sri Lankan music festival which was a great experience! 

The food here is great, especially the curries, and all are reasonably priced...

The setting is lovely and it also has a lounging area out the front where you can just chill out.

Definitely worth a visit!

This place was amazing! My boyfriend had low expectations but we were both blown away at the friendly service. The airport lost my bags and the young guy behind the bar helped me get them back. There are 4 rooms, 2 aircon and 2 without. We didn’t have aircon and surprisingly the very fast fan was more than enough. It was clean, we loved the balcony looking over the tress as we watched the monkeys swing by. The food here is so good that the whole restaurant is packed! Great value! I would recommend this for anyone who wants a good price, chill atmosphere without it being a backpackers. 

Chose pink elephant because it looked good from the road, pretty busy and nice atmosphere.
Walked in and got a table, quick power shortage while writing this, but no problem.

Happy hour between 3 and 6pm then 10pm onwards.
Noticed it is actually a hostel hotel but noticed most of the clientel were walk ins.
It has nice lounging areas at the front of the place.
Ate chicken kebab and chips, and prawn wraps, both tasty.
Kebab was different to that expected, the chips are nicely well done, the salad is coated in a sauce dressing and the chicken kebab was coated in a mild green curry sauce, but good chunky chicken pieces.
The wrap was a like a salad sandwich wrapped in foil, cut in half, not many prawns though
Both tasty but their touches are not what was expected.
 Some may say nice to be different.
Cannot say it's a bad place because it is not, felt most welcome. Advise you ask specifically what the meal consists off first

Different to what was expected

Great hostel and restaurant 

Amazing atmosphere! Great food and perfect hosts! 

Great food, lovely setting

We were lucky enough to grab a table walking in as another couple had just left. It is a quaint authentic restaurant, small and busy so must be popular. Staff were really friendly and polite, but it took some time to get their attention and drinks were quite slow. We ordered a starter to share, which unfortunately never actually arrived before our mains which took an hour. They apologised and said they thought someone had brought it and offered to do it and not charge us, but as our mains had arrived we didn’t bother. We could see service was slow all around. A couple of gentleman behind us had to ask for the bill three times and eventually got up to the bar to pay it. The mains themselves were quite average, not much flavour and have had much better elsewhere.
