It was a great weekend at the Lodge. The staff was super friendly and the food was lovely in a beautiful setting. Overall it was a wonderful stay in a cozy and a clean room surrounded by nature. Would surely love to make a second trip!

We have been travelling to Sri Lanka for many years. The last three years we always stays some nights at Cinnamon Lodge. Nice, well maintained clean rooms. Very friendly and kindly serviceminded staff. Some of them have been working at the hotel for many years, some new for this year, they always meet you with a warm smile and are ready to do they very best for your comfort. The staff who had been with some years recognize you as a repeat guest which make it easy to feel that this easily could be your second home in Sri Lanka. The kitchen and the food are excellent. The staff is educated in food intolerance and the food is markt with gluten and/or lactosefree.
We can strongly recommend this hotel.

Booked in for 3 nights and wished I was staying longer! The place is off the beaten track set on the side of a beautiful lake. Within the first few hours of being here a spotted a dozen monkeys, monitor lizards, peacocks, crocodile and many rare birds. Amelia the English lady owner is the perfect ex pat host who can organise anything you need... The rooms and villa are of a very high standard and there is no booming music like the beach places.. Don’t worry about not being by the beach as it’s a 300 rupee ride ie a quid and an absolute hoot of a ride!!
Kumara is your man on site to help and is charming and speaks good English! His wife cooked us a feast which was delicious home cooking!! May drop back down in Feb on my way home...

This hotel was absolutely gorgeous! The beautiful, extensive grounds were full of wildlife; the pool was heaven on earth and the food and restaurant outstanding. From here we visited Sigiria, Minnerya National Park and Polonuwara. Our only regret is that we didn't spend longer at the hotel!

We had been told this was a superb hotel and were not disappointed!.At the heart of the cultural triangle it is convenient for visiting Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa and Dambulla caves. The deluxe rooms are set around grass and tree filled squares and small lakes which attract wildlife and birds. Rooms are furnished in colonial style with comfortable bed but small bathroom.There is a covered porch outside with stylish chairs and table. Food in the main restaurant was buffet style with a great choice and high quality and a cold room for an amazing choice of desserts,cheeses and fruit. We also used the a la carte restaurant which was very nice.Lovely pool,friendly staff and an organic garden which is interesting to look around. A very nice and memorable stay.
