La Almendra y El Gitano

The Almendra y el Gitano is paradise! It was definitely worth the detour from Granada! Angel and his staff were incredibly welcoming, helpful and nice. They went out of their way to make us feel like at home. We stayed three nights but would have loved to stay an entire week. The hotel is surrounded by colorful hillsides, spectacular sunsets, and trees and plants all around. The rooms are very spacious with their own balcony and are very simple but tastefully decorated. The bed is very comfortable and the shower is great. It is the ideal place to go and relax since there are few rooms, plenty of space, and it is completely quiet. Although not on the actual beach of Agua Amarga, which we later were thankful for, Playa de los Muertos and Plaza el Playazo are a quick drive away. Angel's recommendations were great for the beaches, lookouts as well as restaurants for a nice dinner and drink. Already planning my next visit to the Almendra and Gitano!
