this is a really great place to stay, and eat - Unique medieval castle experience along with medieval food. definitely worth to stay.
There is only so much rooms to stay, and along with your stay you get a complimentary visit to small museum - you can learn about history of this museum and who lived there before.

 The castle and surroundings are astonishing. Also restaurant interior. We have decided to follow Master chef recommendation and selected Duck file. The food was excellent and service as well. We had excellent time here!

Jaunpils Pils (meaning Jaunpils Castle) is a unique place to stay in Latvia. Although remote in the country side, 70 km south of Riga, it is worth the effort to make the trip and enjoy a truly medieval experience. The Baron and Baroness rooms which we had booked were huge, with beautiful views to the surrounding small lake and excellent bathrooms (one even with a Jacuzzi). The kitchen in an old tavern has a good and and tasty menu, the young girls who are serving did a very good job and were very friendly.

Well, that's a hard one to review.... the place is specific and not to everyone's taste but I can't deny that I really enjoyed staying there. 

We stayed ther for one night. My father in law organised his 60th birthday party there and invited more than 40 guests, all stayed over night.

The rooms resemble museum, which is great. Beds are super comfortable and even communal bathroom and toilet were not a problem at all. Staff extremely friendly and made the party a blast! Food and alcohol absolutely stunning! 

The tour around the castle was brilliant. Loads of fun and laughter. 

I would recommend to visit if you happen to be in that part of the world! Me and my wife we really loved it! 



Hotel in real castle. We had very nice room in medieval style, our friends had big room with great bed, fire-place and bubble bath. There were no wc in our room, we had key fom wc located in corridor.
Breakfast was specially made for us in medieval style restaurant-pub on first floor.
